Introduction to former residence
Yu Youren died in Taiwan at the age of 86. All his life, he laid the foundation to supervise, improve agriculture, set up water conservancy, run schools and educate people. He devoted all his life to his dream hometown without reservation. Mr. Yu Youren is not only the pioneer of the democratic revolution in modern China, but also a famous poet and calligrapher. He is honored as "ran Weng" and "Cao Sheng". He established the standard cursive script after a long period of research. He has become a great masterpiece in the history of Chinese calligraphy. His ink is all over the world, enriching the excellent cultural treasure house of the Chinese nation. After he went to Taiwan in 1949, he missed his relatives and looked forward to the reunification of the country. Two years before his death, he wrote the most famous patriotic and homesick poem: "bury me on the high mountain, look at my hometown, my hometown is invisible, never forget...". His affectionate and touching.
Yu Youren's former residence, originally covering an area of 2008 square meters, has only been restored to more than 700 square meters with two courtyards. The West courtyard is the living room of Mrs. Yu's adoptive mother's house. It is a green brick house, simple and elegant. Now it has two exhibition halls, Yu Youren's life story exhibition and contemporary celebrity calligraphy and painting exhibition. Beiyuan is the courtyard of "three old houses and one pagoda tree" where Mr. Yu lived. After he came to Taiwan, in his memoir my youth, Mr. Yu quoted his 1937 poem at the beginning: "the withered locust trees blossom behind the hall, the wind is quiet and the trees are slanting in front of the hall. The three old houses are still in the past. They are ashamed to say "break the family" in exile. More than 600 years of ancient locust trees are still lush and luxuriant. The simple furnishings in the three old houses can not help but arouse people's respect and admiration for Mr. Zhang's spirit of being honest and upright!
Although Yu Youren's former residence does not have magnificent and tall buildings, it can make you feel a kind of simple and dignified, and experience the broad mind of a great pioneer of democratic revolution "the world is for the public". It is the best place to carry forward the construction of clean government and carry out patriotism education.
