Jiazi town
Jiazi town is located in the southeast of Lufeng City, on the shore of Jiazi fishing port. It faces Jiadong town across Ying River in the East, Jiaxi town in the west, Qishi town in Huilai County in the north and Nanhai town in the south. It is the economic and cultural center of two counties and five towns (Jiazi Town, Jiadong Town, Jiaxi town in Lufeng, Qishi town and Aojiang town in Huilai County) around Jiazi port.
Jiazi town has a total land area of 14.7 square kilometers and a coastline of 8 kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 14 neighborhood committees, 1 village committee, 9 fishery management zones and 1 salt management zone. The total population was 112572 (in 2017), of which about 30000 were imported.
Jiazi town has a profound cultural heritage. Jiaziying song and dance is a traditional folk program in Jiazi town,
It has a long history. Every new year's festival and celebration, jiaziying song and dance will be invited to perform, loved by people. In June 2011, jiaziying song and dance was selected into the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

It is 118 nautical miles away from Hong Kong in the west, 51 kilometers away from Donghai Town, 78 nautical miles away from Shantou, 78 nautical miles away from Yingjiang River in the East, adjacent to Nanhai town in the south, Jiaxi town in the West and Huilai County in Jieyang City in the north. The total area of the town is 14.7 square kilometers, the built-up area is 11 square kilometers, and the coastline is 8 kilometers long. It governs 14 communities and 1 village committee. The permanent resident population of the town is 112572 (in 2017), of which the floating population exceeds 50000. It is an important economic town of Lufeng City and a modern foreign trade port town focusing on marine fishery and light industry.
Historical evolution
Jiazi town is an old and developed important town in eastern Guangdong. Originally known as jiazimen, because the port has a large stone wall, arranged like a door, in line with the tiangan dizhi 60 Jiazi characters, so it is named Jiazi. Jiazi's name began in the Western Han Dynasty, song and Yuan Dynasties. At that time, because of the war, people from Fujian, Chaoshan and Central Plains moved to live here. By the early Ming Dynasty, a large-scale town had been formed. In order to defend against Japanese pirates, the Ming Dynasty set up an office in Jiazi. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the economy of Jiazi was prosperous. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the population had increased to more than 30000. In the Republic of China, there were districts and towns. In 1942, the population increased to 45000. In 1957, Jiadong and Jiaxi were designated as towns directly under the county government. In 1958, they were changed into people's communes. In October 1980, the town people's government was established.

Jiazi town is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, belonging to hilly area. The geological surface is mainly composed of loess, with high and solid sediment content. The climate belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, with annual average temperature of about 22 ℃, mild and rainy all year round, and abundant sunshine. Aquatic products and local products are very rich in natural conditions.
Economic overview
With the rapid development of industry and fishery, commerce and trade developed in history, it is known as "golden Jiazi". The main industries are light industry, food, clothing, plastics, machinery, fishing gear, electronic hardware, arts and crafts and so on. There are thousands of export products. Among them, the gem globe produced by Jiazi Yuying gem craft factory has reached the international advanced level with its unique color gems and exquisite artistic creativity, and is favored by Chinese and foreign customers. The fishing industry has developed steadily. The town has more than 500 fishing boats of various types, with a total power of 66929 kW and a total tonnage of 19089 tons. The aquaculture area of all kinds of aquatic products is nearly 700 hectares, with an annual output of more than 60000 tons in 2006 and a total output value of 650 million yuan. In 2006, the total social output value of the town was 2.6237.1 billion yuan. In 2007, China's GDP reached 1.936 billion yuan. In 2010, the total output value of fishery was 950 million yuan and that of industry was 4.08 billion yuan. It is estimated that the GDP in 2010 will exceed 4 billion yuan and that in 2013 will be 6.4 billion yuan, accounting for more than one third of Lufeng City.
Industry
Jiazi town adheres to the principle of "prospering the town by industry, prospering the town by industry", takes efficiency as the center, takes scientific and technological innovation as the driving force, and runs industry well. From 2002 to 2006, Jiazi town completed 4.10395 billion yuan of industrial output value, and 1.65192 billion yuan of industrial output value in 2006, an increase of 24.2% over 2005. In 2010, the industrial output value reached 4.08 billion yuan. During the Eleventh Five Year Plan period, the industrial output value increased by 25% annually.
In terms of the development trend of key enterprises, the number of Enterprises above Designated Size accounts for 26% of Lufeng City, and there are 14 self operated import and export enterprises. According to statistics in 2005, there are 13 import and export enterprises in Shanwei City, 7 of which are Jiazi town. In terms of private industry, during the four years from 2002 to 2006, an additional investment of more than 40 million yuan was made, 33 new industries were established, and more than 60000 square meters of new (expanded) factories were built. There are more than 500 private industries in the town, including 11 self operated import and export rights. The output value of private industry accounts for 70% of the total industrial output value of the town, especially the hardware and plastic furniture accessories. Through guiding the establishment of Jiazi furniture accessories Association and other industry organizations, scientific research institutions and production equipment manufacturers are organized to promote new technology and equipment, and improve the management and service level. In 2008, it was listed as a provincial furniture accessories professional town.
In 2012, the industrial and agricultural output value of the whole town was 6.71 billion yuan, an increase of 16.2% over 2011, of which, the industrial output value was 5.773 billion yuan, an increase of 23%, the agricultural output value was 937 million yuan, an increase of 5.6%; the investment in social fixed assets was 2.89 billion yuan; the foreign trade export was 12 million US dollars;

In 2014, the total industrial and agricultural output value was 11.595 billion yuan, an increase of 23.35% over 2013, of which the total industrial output value was 10.57 billion yuan, an increase of 25% over 2013. The output value of industries above Designated Size reached 9.65 billion yuan, an increase of 27.6% over 2013. In 2014, the social fixed assets investment was 6.2 billion yuan, an increase of 44.1% over 2013, and the foreign trade export reached 12 million US dollars, a slight decrease compared with 2013.
Fisheries
Fishery is the second pillar industry of Jiazi. Jiazi port is one of the nine excellent fishing ports in the whole province. It is also a national first-class fishing port and one of the 20 central fishing ports in China. It is one of the main seafood production, processing and circulation bases in Guangdong Province. High quality seafood include grouper, eel, mackerel, lobster, prawn, crab, squid, etc. In 2010, there were 498 fishing boats in the town, with a total fishery output value of 950 million yuan. Ships from Yangjiang in western Guangdong, Quanzhou in Fujian and many fishing ports in the city often trade and replenish in Jiazi port, further speeding up the process of fishery industrialization in Jiazi Town, forming industrial chains of production, processing, cold storage, storage, transportation, ice making, etc.
In 2014, the total marine economic output was 1025.08 million yuan, an increase of 4% over 2013. The fishery output was 59391 tons, 0.05% higher than that in 2013. The total output value of aquatic products was 436.08 million yuan, 12.6% higher than that in 2013. The processing capacity of aquatic products was 43130 tons, and the processing value was 316.76 million yuan, 3% higher than that in 2013. The total marine economy of the whole year was 1025.08 million yuan, an increase of 4% over 2013.
social undertakings
The town's infrastructure is improving day by day, with convenient transportation and extending in all directions. It is 14 kilometers away from Shenzhen Shantou expressway, and provincial highway s338 runs through the whole territory. It goes east to Shantou, Chaozhou and Fujian, and west to the major cities in the Pearl River Delta. Jiazi port is between Shantou and Shenzhen, which is the "hinterland" of the two ports. It can reach Shantou and Xiamen ports in the East and Hong Kong and Guangzhou in the West. It is a first-class fishing port in China.
In terms of municipal construction, funds have been raised from all aspects since 2000. Yanjiang Road and Xihe road have been opened up in the town, and 50m Fuyuan Road, 40m Yingxin Avenue and Huayuan avenue have been opened up to realize road cementation. The coastal road, Tongcheng Road, dongfangcun Avenue, Yingjiang Avenue, Nanmen Street, guangbin road and other roads have been reconstructed and built, with supporting greening and street lamps.
