marketplace in Beijing especially during the Lunar New Year holidays
Changdian was an open space in front of the Ming and Qing glass kilns. Haiwang Village Park was built in the sixth year of the Republic of China. In the past, every year on the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar, stalls were set up nearby to sell goods, and tourists gathered, which is called "visiting Changdian". There are only lanes left in Changdian. The so-called "Changdian" generally refers to the area near "Haiwang Village Park".
Changdian is located in the northeast corner of the intersection between the East and West Liulichang, the former site of Haiwang Village Park, which was officially opened in 1917.

Changdian temple fair began in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. In the old custom, the Lantern Festival from the first day of the first month to the fifteenth day of the first month is called kaichangdian. During the temple fair, it is needless to say that there is a lot of activity in Haiwang village. The ancestral hall of luzu on the east side of Haiwang village is also full of incense, and there are many good men and women. The temple of fire god is a place where jewellers are concentrated, the Wenchang Pavilion and the Land Temple are also places where books are concentrated, and there are also businesses on both sides of the road. In 2001, Changdian temple fair became a good place for Spring Festival after disappearing for many years, and became the only open temple fair in Beijing without admission.
difference
Modern temple fairs are different from those in previous years. The roads are widening, and the houses on both sides are still half empty. Tourists who support the old and the young are not too picky about the environment. Temple fair starts from Huguang hall and continues to Hepingmen. Jinghua publishing house at the northwest corner of Hufangqiao road is a symbol of the cultural heritage of Liulichang. It was completed in 1920. Its predecessor was the official Zhili official publishing house reorganized by Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao's strong society.
Ludong's bright and tall Rooster model is spinning new year's greetings, and the flying flags tell people that this is the fifth Changdian temple fair. The colorful stalls are carrying the fragrance of books, delicious food and joy, spreading hope. People are infected by happiness, and their mouths are full of joy. It is a happy memory for the old people to go to the temple fair; it is a hope for the children to go to the temple fair; the middle-aged people are in full bloom because of the joy of the old and the young.
street food
Temple fair is a big gathering of local snacks. Color, fragrance and shape of aiwowo, lvdaguan, pea yellow, rice cake, enema, as well as tea soup, flour tea, Camellia oleifera, you really can't tell if you don't understand. The Tanghulu with Beijing flavor is more fragrant than eating. Chinese, western, local, foreign, famous, not famous, there are so many snacks. Everywhere is steaming with the joy of the new year, everywhere is colorful, looking at the auspicious. How can we not have a taste of such snacks? Today's snacks are particularly fragrant, not to mention tired and a little hungry.
The new year is a national holiday, which makes children look forward to it early. It is needless to say that new trousers and new coat are the best way to have fun today, because today's father and mother are the biggest. Diabolo is humming, spinning top is also very good, Gala Gala windmill is blowing the breeze, colorful kites are bright. There are clay figurines, dough figurines, facial makeup, dramas, brown people, hairy monkeys, bamboo snakes, feather butterflies, bamboo and wood knives and guns, silk flowers, paper flowers, cloth dolls, cloth tigers, Chinese knots, and special highlights. The cock announces the dawn, and the mother chicken takes the baby chicken. I've been dazzled. I don't know what's good. I wish I could all go home.
Listen! The sound of Suona, gongs and drums are exciting. Look! Up and down, a left and a right sedan chair, shake the people fascinated, who can sit in a bump, this is also a good interactive program. The performances in temple fairs have to stop. Watching quyi means laughing. Watching opera pays attention to one thing. Listening to popular songs can also be followed by singing. The acrobatics of the overpass is different. The bustling wrestling performance is actually a person's toss. If the actor doesn't take off the props, he really can't see it. How can he look like two people when he puts on the props and performs again. In fact, his two legs are one person's legs, and his two arms are another person's legs. Although the arms of two wrestlers are props, they can get up and get down with wrestling. It's really like wrestling. Wrestling is kicking the arm with the legs and mixing the legs with the arms. If you look at the sword swallowing, it's a real sword swallowing. It seems that it's not a day or two. There's an old saying about Tianqiao. It's only said that you don't practice fake skills, it's only said that you can practice real skills. The performance of temple fair is the real skills of Tianqiao. It's refreshing to listen and it's hidden to watch. At the end of the program, those who have money can help a cash market, and those who have no money can help a personal market. Of course, it should be. After all, is Changdian temple fair confiscating tickets.
Painting and Calligraphy
The biggest feature of Changdian is books, so bookstores at temple fairs account for a large proportion. Paper, electronic, dazzling. If you want to say that the largest one is still in the Chinese Bookstore yard, that is, the old factory. The hospital is full of books, hardcover, paperback, a wide range of categories, and can be 70% off. There are many people standing in front of the bookshelves, especially the old people who read books. They have a unique taste of Liulichang. I have also selected a few books, among which the "lost overseas national treasure - Atlas" is just matched with the "lost overseas national treasure - text volume" I originally bought, which can be regarded as a combination of Zhulian and Bihe.
The main sign of the formation of Liulichang Cultural Street is the emergence of a large number of bookstores. Antique calligraphy and painting shops surpass books, but the bookstores here are still the largest and most concentrated in the capital. From a single point of view, it can not be compared with the book building and Wangfujing bookstore, but it is not inferior to the books of literature, history, philosophy and art. China Bookstore is the first state-owned antique Bookstore established in Beijing in 1952. In 1958, through a public-private joint venture, 111 old and used bookstores in the city were merged into one bookstore in China, continuing the development of the old and used book industry.
China Bookstore is one of the largest ancient and used bookstores in China. Its new printing of ancient books and related books on ancient books are a major feature. It also collects ancient books, inscriptions, rubbings, old books, old newspapers, old magazines, etc. Binding and repairing ancient books is also its business. The cultural heritage bookstore is more like a museum, where you can also see precious rare books. You can gain a lot of insight by visiting. Huacai music and art company is the former commercial press in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1958, it was the largest bookstore in Beijing. Cultural relic bookstores can't be more suitable in Liulichang. The commercial press and Zhonghua Book Company have no sense of senility. They are lined up or echo each other. They are the best demonstration of the collection of traditional books.
People who love books all know that it takes the most time to read and search for books. It's better not to have too clear goals when buying books. Otherwise, it will be disappointed in most cases. It often means that it has the intention to plant flowers but not the intention to plant willows into shade; it takes no effort to find a place without breaking iron shoes. Every time I pass Liulichang, as long as I have some time, I always go to the bookstore to have a look. When I read a book, I always feel that I don't have enough time, so I keep pushing back the time when I leave. Some books are read when I buy them, but when I come back, they are less. They almost become reference books. When I use them, I check them. Going to the bookstore is addictive. I feel itchy when I haven't been there for a long time. When I was a child, I naively thought how wonderful it was that the street was full of bookstores.
The name of Haiwang village is far away. It was called Haiwang village in the Liao Dynasty. It was a small village in Yanxia village in the eastern suburb of Liaodu city. At that time, temples were gathered and the economy was prosperous. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by war. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was a kiln for firing glazed tiles. In the Ming Dynasty, it was one of the five major kilns of the Ministry of industry, so it was called Liulichang. However, it made great contributions to the splendor of the capital. It was desolate for a long time after the Liao Dynasty. It was only after the expansion of the outer city in 1553 that the area was inhabited again. In the late Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, for the safety of the Imperial Palace, the government moved the Lantern Festival and bookshop that had been held in the inner city to Liulichang kiln. As a result, the custom of visiting Changdian during the Spring Festival came into being, and it became lively again. The earliest operation of Liulichang's calligraphy industry began in the Ming Dynasty. As a distribution center of antiques, books, calligraphy and painting, Liulichang became brilliant after the relocation of Liulichang in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. In particular, when the library of Sikuquanshu was opened in 1733, the compilers gathered in the capital. Most of them lived in Xuannan area, so they came here one after another to search for books and research, which made the Liulichang book market more prosperous.
At that time, there were more than 30 famous antiques and booksellers. Sikuquanshu was compiled in 10 years. According to records, there were 360 librarians. Could Liulichang not be prosperous? By the early years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, there were more than 220 bookstores, including more than 50 antique, calligraphy and painting, tablet and calligraphy shops. Up to now, Liulichang Cultural Street still has many time-honored brands. For example, the bookstores founded in the Qing Dynasty include Laixun Pavilion, chuiyatang, wenkuitang, songyun Pavilion, commercial press, etc. Songzhuzhai, which was founded in 1672, is today's rongbaozhai; huaiyinshanfang and boguzhai, which were founded in Xianfeng; Yidege ink factory, which was founded in Tongzhi; qingyuntang, yunguzhai, baoguzhai, baojinzhai, cuizhenzhai and qingmige, which were founded in Guangxu. Zhonghua Book Company and shenyazhai were founded during the period of the Republic of China. Lu Xun, Zheng Zhenduo, Zhang Boju, Zhu Ziqing, Deng Tuo, Lao She, Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian, Chen banding and many other celebrities are frequent visitors here.
In 1927, the peace gate was opened up, the Changqiao was demolished, and the Xinhua Street in the South was opened. The Liulichang was divided into two parts. The East Liulichang was dominated by antiques, and the West Liulichang was dominated by old books. Nowadays, most of the shops in Liulichang Cultural Street were rebuilt after 1978. At that time, there was a lot of controversy, because the rebuilt ones were fake antiques after all. Similar disputes are far from over, because the trend of demolishing the real and building the fake has not been completely curbed.
Knowing Liulichang and Changdian seems very far away for me. I was in primary school or middle school
