Yiyan Temple
Yiyan temple is located in Shixiang, Qunxing village, Xintang Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou city. It is connected with the sea erosion cave, one of the eight new sceneries in Zengcheng City. Originally, it was a cave formed by the changes of ancient sea and land. It is called "traces of ancient sea". Connected with the entrance of the sea erosion cave is a higher and larger stone rock. There is a stone platform under the rock, just like a temple. People use this natural platform to build "Yiyan Temple". The temple is connected with the cave and connected with each other. Visitors can get in and out of it with special interest. According to historical records, Shixiang has always been built with the temple of heaven after heaven and Yiyan temple. The residents of Xintang Town believe in both Buddhism and folk beliefs such as heaven after heaven. Yiyan temple was in disrepair and destroyed in the 1960s. It was built by villagers in the 1980s. In 2002, Qunxing village committee handed over the temple to Guangzhou Buddhist Association for management, and Xincheng monk entered the temple as abbot.
Temple introduction
Shixiang has always been built with Tianhou palace and Yiyan temple. The residents of Xintang Town believe in both Buddhism and folk beliefs such as Tianhou. Yiyan temple was in disrepair and destroyed in the 1960s. In the 1980s, it was built by villagers themselves. In 2002, Qunxing village committee handed over the temple to Guangzhou Buddhist Association for management, and invited Xincheng monk to be the abbot of the temple. In November 2002, it was approved as a place for religious activities by Zengcheng Municipal Bureau of ethnic and religious affairs. At the beginning of 2003, the new great monk made great efforts to rebuild Yiyan temple. With the support and cooperation of all Buddhists and Shifang Shanxin, he successively built a number of buildings, such as Daxiong hall, Haihui building and Gongde hall.
Yiyan temple has not only Buddhist temples such as Daxiong hall, but also folk temples such as Tianhou palace, 60jiazi hall, Guandi session, Shuaifu, etc. to meet the religious requirements of the majority of residents. The temple also retains the ancient sea relics of Stone Lane and excavates the release pool. The Yiyan temple, which covers an area of 12000 square meters, is built on the mountain and has beautiful scenery. It is a good place for tourists to worship Buddha and travel. Yiyan Temple
