The origin of West Coast Art District
The two sides of the canal in Gongshu District of Hangzhou are undergoing "artistic transformation". The industrial site of Changzheng chemical plant, the site of fuyicang, the historical block of xiaohezhi street, the old factory buildings beside sanglu and Shixiang river will become cultural and creative industrial areas, and will operate under the unified brand of "canal world". In 2008, Yunhe Tiandi cultural and creative industrial park was selected as one of the first ten cultural and creative industrial parks in the city.
The International Art District on the West Bank is located on the West Bank of the canal in Gongshu District. The factory building is empty. It used to be a long march chemical plant, covering an area of nearly 200 mu. From the end of the 19th century to the 1980s and 1990s, it was once the center of the canal industrial civilization, once showing prosperity. Then, with the adjustment of Hangzhou's industrial structure and the relocation of industrial enterprises, these old factories began to gradually decline from prosperity. The high space advantage of these old plants is conducive to space reorganization and is suitable for adding floors to steel structures. Groups of modern buildings, providing nearly 10000 square meters of wide space, are jointly built by Hangzhou canal group and Boyi network.
Mr. Yang Biao, chairman of the West Bank Art District and CEO of boyi.com, believes that it is the development goal of boyi.com that is completely consistent with the development strategy of Hangzhou city that has contributed to this perfect marriage. Boyi.com is a famous art website rising in Hangzhou in recent years. It is also a surprise to build a cultural and Creative Industrial Zone on the West Bank of Hangzhou canal by using its own advantages. Taking the West Bank of the canal as the long-term planning and development goal, boyi.com takes the left bank of the Seine River and Beijing 798 as the surpassing objects. In addition to the noble status of this landmark itself, art, as the top label in this area, also attracts people's attention. At present, many famous creative industry enterprises have taken the lead in entering the park. Boyi Modern Art Museum, international city art living room, design center, sculpture exhibition platform and artist studio are orderly distributed in the park. In addition, the West Bank International Art Zone has complete supporting facilities, including art Inn, art restaurant, Art Cafe, etc.
The orientation of the West Coast Art District
With the deepening of urbanization, the rise of art district and creative district has become a new trend in the city. Almost every city where artists gather is actively planning where artists gather. 798 in Beijing, 50 Moganshan Road in Shanghai, tank warehouse in Chongqing, etc. Hangzhou has always been an important city of Chinese fine arts. It not only has the natural resources of China Academy of fine arts, but also the government has been committed to building the city's cultural brand in recent years. But all along, the Art District of Hangzhou has only been developed in a very small area, and has little influence in the whole country. This is not consistent with Hangzhou's position in Chinese art circles. Will Hangzhou have its own 798?
Along the Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal, there are many factory buildings left over from the last century. They witness the historical relics of Hangzhou's modern industrial civilization. Hangzhou's modern industrial civilization came into being along the canal. As a unique cultural heritage of Hangzhou, the industrial relics along the canal describe the development of Hangzhou from the industrial age to the information age for more than a century. Because of its characteristics throughout the city, it can be widely extended in space. The deepening transformation of the area around the canal has laid a good foundation for the construction of the new art district. The conditions needed for the construction of the art district are highlighted with the reconstruction of the canal. Artists with ideals move in and let their creativity develop freely. On the old shadow of the old factory, they add up a new atmosphere of modern art.
The canal Art District named "West Bank" began to show its beauty. It is located on the West Bank of the canal in Gongshu District, Hangzhou. It is a factory building that was once a long march chemical plant. It covers an area of nearly 200 mu and has 16 buildings. Groups of modern buildings provide nearly 10000 square meters of wide space. It is located in the old urban area in the north of Hangzhou City, facing the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal across the newly renovated Canal Park, and adjacent to the urban area, surrounded by residential areas on three sides. The natural and cultural environment is very ideal. The reuse of these old achievements of industrial design is not to overturn the building, but to change its use function. After artistic treatment, it becomes harmonious and fashionable with the environment. At the same time, road reconstruction, densification of the surrounding road network, dredging of waterways, development of public transport and increase of parking space will provide conditions for the transformation of industrial plants. According to the mode of work, residence and leisure, the original rough and dilapidated industrial facilities have been transformed into a creative cultural center in the city.
"West Bank International Art Zone", jointly built by boyi.com and Yunhe group, has entered the stage of investment invitation and decoration. In response to the call of Hangzhou municipal government to build a cultural and creative industry center city, "West Bank International Art Zone" will be positioned as a high-end cultural and Creative Industry Park, integrating art, design, creativity, exhibition and communication. There will be art museum, artist studio, gallery, creative center, logo Museum, lighting experience center, and supporting art post station, bar, restaurant, etc.
