Xuanhua Museum
Xuanhua museum is located at 64 Xuanfu street, Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, China (the former site of Chahar democratic government). It was established on October 18, 2006 and is a state-owned museum under the Xuanhua district culture and Tourism Bureau.
Xuanhua Museum has more than 1300 unearthed cultural relics and more than 100 national first-class, second-class and third-class cultural relics. Free throughout the year. The former site of Chahar democratic government where the museum is located is the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
After Xuanhua Museum opened on October 18, 2006, some of its buildings have been under maintenance and renovation. In June 2010, the museum signed a contract with Beijing Axel international exhibition company to rectify the exhibition of the museum. On February 11, 2011, Xuanhua Museum reopened, with two permanent exhibitions, namely, Xuanhua historical and cultural exhibition and red Chahar special exhibition on democratic government of Chahar province.
The museum's collection includes the wine of Liao Dynasty unearthed from Zhang Wenzao's tomb in XiaBali tomb group. The wine was found in a black glazed chicken leg bottle, which was reddish brown liquid and identified as wine. A bronze pot with a pot of clay was built in a tomb of the Warring States village in Xuanhua, and the Baijiu and liquor were also displayed in the Xuanhua Museum. Among the cultural relics on display are "Zhenrong idols" unearthed from the tombs of the Liao Dynasty in XiaBali.
