Yan family ancestral hall
Ancestral hall is a place where Chinese ancestors or sages are sacrificed. Yanjia ancestral hall is located in dashuiping, Jianshan, Xianfeng County, Hubei Province. The ancestral hall was built in the first year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 736 square meters. It is a civil quadrangle. Ancestral halls have many uses. In addition to the function of "worshiping ancestors and worshiping ancestors", these broad ancestral halls can be used for activities when sun's houses usually handle affairs such as marriage, funeral, birthday and happiness. In addition, in order to discuss the important affairs within the clan, the clan members also used the ancestral hall as a meeting place.

The main building of Yan ancestral hall is divided into three parts: hall, pavilion and main hall. There are three halls, which are the place for people to have a party and have a meal. In the main hall, there is a niche of Yan's ancestral tablet with a gold plaque of "Jingzong shouzu" hanging on it, which is the hall of sacrifice. On the left side of the hall, there are two steles with neat handwriting and exquisite carving. On both sides, there are reliefs of "riding alone for thousands of miles" and "three Hall joint trial". Pavilion placed in the patio, 6.7 meters high, two floors, cornice angle, elegant decoration. The roof ridge is a colorful pattern inlaid with glazed tiles. The two pillars in the pavilion are carved with blue stone lions. On the left is a lion rolling an embroidered ball. On the right is a lion playing with a lion. The stone base under the lion is engraved with eight story pictures, such as "Meng Zhong crying bamboo", "Wu Song fighting tiger", "single sword going to the party", "Yuan men chopping" and so on. In front of the pavilion, there is a 1.07-meter-long and 1.63-meter-wide inclined hollow dragon carving stone. At the lower end is a carp leaping over the dragon's gate, and at the upper end is "three dragons playing in the water". It is vigorous and vigorous, and its claws are surging in the sea of clouds. Close to the Longpan stone, there is a small semicircular fish pond with a height of 0.67 meters, which is composed of eight stone tablets. It is engraved with "Sixteen family precepts" and decorated with cloud patterns. It is beautiful and exquisite. The ancestral hall is heavily decorated with carved beams and painted columns. It fully embodies the outstanding talent and artistic creativity of the ancient Chinese working people. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hubei Province.
