There is a strange mountain 30 kilometers southwest of Xilinhot. The shape of the mountain is like an iron pot which is turned upside down to guokuishan, and four hills with similar shape are evenly distributed around it. Local herdsmen call this mountain "taogaowula", which means Guokui mountain. When the rain is over, the grass is full of water drops, the sun is shining through the clouds, and the grass is fragrant, the rainbow appears on this mountain, giving the viewer a mirage like feeling. It belongs to national 3A landscape. According to local herdsmen's legend, there is a spring at the bottom of Guokui mountain. The spring water is very sweet. Genghis Khan had eight BMWs to drink every day. Later, no matter where Genghis Kai went, these BMWs came back to drink the spring water. Once Genghis Khan went to fight far away, these BMWs went to drink the spring water again, which delayed the fight. In his anger, Genghis Khan ordered to take one of the BMWs beside the spring water The pot turned over and stopped the horse from drinking the spring water. Later, the pot turned into a mountain. Not far from the mountain, there is a pot support, which is clearly visible from a distance.

The origin of mountain name

In baolegen Sumu, Xilinhot City, there is a mountain with a peculiar shape. This mountain is like an inverted iron pot, and four hills of the same shape are evenly distributed around it. The local herdsmen call this mountain "taogaowula" (meaning Guokui mountain in Chinese), and call the four surrounding hills "taogaontali biguliwula" (meaning Guojia mountain in Chinese). The name of the mountain originated from a legend. At that time, Genghis Khan led the army to camp here, and left a pot. Later, the pot became taogoula, and the pot shelf became taogountali biguliura. Guokuishan got its name from this.

Historical legend

Guokui mountain has a moving legend. Genghis Khan, the first emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, passed here in the middle of his battle. At this time, the sun had set in the west mountain. Genghis Khan ordered his troops to camp on the spot, so the soldiers began to dig stoves in the grass to light a fire. The news of Khan passing by like a gust of wind spread all over the grassland. The herdsmen nearby made an appointment to see Khan at dawn. However, when they arrived at the camp in the morning fog, there was already no one here. There was only a mountain shaped like a pot helmet and a few surrounding hills. The herdsmen said that it must be the iron pot used by the Khan.
