Former residence of Liu Guojun
Liu Guojun's former residence is 82-84 Qingguo lane. It was the former site of Bagui hall in Tang's eight residences and the birthplace of Qu Qiubai. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit of the province.
brief introduction
Liu Guojun's former residence is located in Shengci Town, the place where he lived, adjacent to Yuewang temple. The three characters of "Hongyi garden" written by Mr. Liu Haisu are powerful. Liu Guojun's former residence consists of his former residence, Shanyu hall, Jingxiu hall and the newly built Guojun hall. The whole building is not only connected by corridors, but also separated by patios, with several wells and several floors, which are dense and integrated. What impresses people most is the old house on the left side of the gate, with mud brick, green tile, moss mottled, low tile house, an old bamboo bed, a spinning wheel, and a loom. It is like a dusty textbook of hard work and thrift, quietly recounting the arduous and brilliant entrepreneurial history of Mr. Liu Guojun, the proud industrial son of Chinese people. On the wall of the old house, there is a banner, which is thought-provoking. "When I was young, I had to pay 800 yuan for my tuition. Three meals a day and a bamboo bed at night. If you are rich, you will be happy, and you will never forget poverty. " Step out of the old house, through the front courtyard corridor, you will enter the "jingxiutang" which means "dedication and self-cultivation". This is the code of conduct that Mr. Liu Guojun abides by all his life. There are pictures of Mr. Liu Guojun and his family in the solemn hall. At the age of 15, Mr. Liu Guojun set out from Shengci town to explore the world. In his later years, he returned to his hometown. It seems that he has drawn a circle. However, in the past 50 years, Mr. Liu Guojun has led his hometown by donating money for education, dredging polder harbor and building Yue Temple.
Jingxiutang
In Jingxiu hall, there is a picture of Mr. Liu Guojun sitting in the reading room. Behind the picture is a horse created by Xu Beihong, a famous master of calligraphy and painting in China. The horse in the picture is not a running horse, but a horse drinking water. It is the embodiment of Mr. Liu Guojun's feeling of thinking about the source of water. This virtue of thinking about the source of water has been extended to his descendants. His daughter, Ms. Liu Biru, often goes back to her hometown to visit her grave or return to her hometown. She always devotes all her resources to support the economic construction of her hometown, such as building a school, running a school, setting up an industry and developing three industries. Out of the Jingxiu hall, through the tree shadow whirling corridor, you will arrive at Shanyu hall.
Shanyu Hall
Hanging in the middle of the living room is a couplet with the words "old man, never old heart, always run with the party". It is written according to his handwriting, which is very eye-catching. This hall was named after Mr. Liu Guojun who founded Shanyu dyeing and weaving factory in his hometown during the Republic of China. "Shanyu" is the best memorial to him. There is also an intriguing story. Originally this cloth factory was called Shanyu cloth factory, but Mr. Liu Guojun added the word "Heng" after "Shanyu" to recall his mother's education. I remember that when he was 15 years old, when he wanted to go out into the world, his mother gave his son the word "Heng" with her own weaving movements. She said, "without perseverance, how can this mass of cotton become a yarn, and how can each yarn become a piece of cloth?" from then on, he remembered his mother's teaching and wrote a couplet to encourage himself "If you travel every day, you are not afraid of thousands of miles; if you do it often, you are not afraid of thousands of things." Today, Shanyu hall has become a hall for guests to chant couplets. The hall is decorated with celebrity calligraphy and paintings, elegant and new. From Shanyu hall to the hall garden, there are spring orchids, autumn osmanthus, green and fragrant flowers in the garden. The citron tree planted by Liu Guojun's descendants is lush all the year round. The high branches touch the eaves. Two magnolias are eye-catching and grow luxuriantly. The crown of the tree points to the sky. As soon as the flowering season arrives, the fragrance is overflowing, and the branches are full of "white jade", crystal clear, as if to show people Mr. Liu Guojun's noble character. From Shanyu hall, you can reach the exhibition room on the southwest side of the former residence by crossing the wing rooms on both sides.
Exhibition Room
The exhibition room vividly reproduces the historical records of Mr. Liu Guojun, a famous industrialist and patriot in various periods with photos and material materials. The windows around him record his entrepreneurial process with full and accurate historical materials. On the walls hang inscriptions of Lu Dingyi, Hu Ziang, Liu Jingji and other leading comrades, full of admiration and nostalgia for him. In order to compete with Japanese businessmen, Mr. Liu Guojun was the first to produce velvet and corduroy in China. He also created famous brand goods that made Japanese businessmen angry. In the spring of 1950, shortly after the liberation of the whole country, Mr. Liu Guojun, who was homesick and patriotic, broke through many obstacles and resolutely returned from Hong Kong to the mainland of the motherland to devote himself to the hot socialist construction. His noble feelings will last forever. A few tens of meters to the east of the exhibition room is the "Guojun hall" which was completed soon in the new century.
Guojun Hall
In the center of Guojun hall is an 18 ton, 3.5-meter-high white jade statue of Mr. Liu Guojun. His kind-hearted, gentle and friendly face overlooks his beloved hometown. Above the statue is Lu Dingyi's inscription of "care, love, diligence". These four words are just the right evaluation of Mr. Liu Guojun. Liu Guojun's greatest admiration in his life is Yue Fei. He always thinks that Yue Fei's spirit of "serving the country faithfully" inspired his career from success to glory, so he and his descendants built Yue Temple four times. The story of Mr. Liu Guojun's homesickness and patriotism has been circulating among the people of Jingjiang and has won deep admiration. Their children are also very concerned about the construction of their hometown. They donate money to build a library and Shengci middle school, and set up a scholarship fund for Mr. Liu Guojun. In his whole life, Mr. Liu Guojun went from an apprentice to a rich businessman, then from a rich businessman to a national industrial pride who dared to compete with Japanese businessmen, and then grew into a patriotic and socialist vice governor of Jiangsu Province. It is precisely because of his "kindness and persistence", his "perseverance" and "respect for cultivation", and his patriotism and love for his hometown. Mr. Liu Guojun left us precious spiritual wealth.
