Songlin ancient temple is located at the foot of Songlin peak in the suburb of Yixi Town, Chaocheng city. During the excavation of Dongxi in the 1970s, a stone statue of Bodhisattva Weituo and a round stone pier were unearthed in the low-lying area in front of the original Temple site. The six characters "monk of Kaishan hall" carved on it can be seen clearly. It is now provided in the temple, so it is called Kaishan temple. According to archaeological experts, the stone statues and stone piers are relics of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. It can be seen that the temple has a long history. Because of the vicissitudes of the times, it is almost barren. It is not known when it was founded or when it will be abandoned.

Therefore, the original intention was to expand and revitalize the old Songlin temple. So we asked some engineers to do the overall planning and design, and the planned land is more than 60 mu, with a total construction area of more than 9500 square meters. The overall layout of the building is roughly divided into five parts, the central axis of which is the mountain gate, diamond hall, tianwu hall, Yuantong hall, Daxiong hall and Tibetan Scripture building; the east side is the East corridor, dizang hall, bell tower, guest hall, Zhaitang, Sangha, Buddhist Culture Center Building and five hundred arhat hall; the west side is the west corridor, Jialan hall, Drum Tower, Sangha, chanting hall, Putong tower and nursing home; the supporting facilities in front of the mountain gate are the East corridor, Jialan hall, Drum Tower, Sangha, chanting hall, Putong tower and nursing home Xishuangshi pagoda, Fangsheng pool, winding path, pavilion, bridge, memorial archway, Temple Road, square supporting facilities, etc.
