He was called to the capital and was granted the title of Wei Wei. Ma Chao, his son, went to Sichuan to submit to Liu Bei and was named "five tiger general". Ma Teng and his family were killed and buried by the Shiliang river.
Ma Teng's biography
Ma Teng, whose name is Shou Cheng, is Ma Chao's father. He was a descendant of Ma Yuan, a Fubo general in the Western Han Dynasty. When Ma Yuan arrived at Ma Su, Ma Su married Jiang Nu and gave birth to Ma Teng. For a long time, Ma Teng was loyal to the Han Dynasty. When Cao Cao controlled the imperial court in the early days, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty wrote an imperial edict, asking Liu Bei, Ma Teng and others to fight against Cao Cao. After the incident failed, Ma Teng returned to Xiliang to support his troops. Later, he was lured into Beijing by Cao Cao and killed.
Ma Teng returned to Xiliang after he was exposed about the dress belt edict. Soon, Cao Cao called Ma Teng to Beijing (Xuchang) on the ground of Promoting Ma Teng's official position. Ma Teng's three sons, Ma Chao, Ma Xiu and Ma tie, thought that not going to the palace was against their fate; his nephew, Ma Dai, thought that Cao Cao was sinister and dangerous to enter Beijing. Ma Teng combined his opinions and went to Beijing to see Cao Cao. Everyone in the Ma family agreed that it was very dangerous and had to be careful. So Ma Chao, the eldest son, stayed in Xiliang. Ma Teng led 5000 troops to the area. Ma Xiu, the second son, and Ma tie, the third son, were the first troops, and Ma Dai led the battle. The brigade stopped twenty miles outside Xuchang to inform Cao Cao.
Cao Cao plans to send Huang Kui, the marching officer, to receive Ma Teng, lure him into the city to meet the emperor, and then take the opportunity to make people catch Ma Teng. However, Huang Kui hated Cao Cao in his heart. Huang Kui also knew that Ma Teng had participated in the killing of Cao Cao in the past. When they had a banquet, they studied with each other. If it was not safe to enter the court to face the emperor, they might as well ask Cao Cao to inspect the barracks and kill him. Ma Teng and Huang Kui have a plan. Huang Kui will go back to the mansion to have a rest when he is drunk.
Huang Kui has a beloved concubine named Chunxiang. Chunxiang has an affair with Huang Kui's wife and uncle Miao Ze. That night, Chunxiang serves Huang Kui. From his half drunk oral English, he knows that he will kill Cao Cao with Ma Teng in the morning. Chunxiang tells miaoze that miaoze thinks it's an opportunity for promotion and wealth, so he tells Cao Cao by night. The next day, Cao Cao sent his generals to encircle Ma Teng and Xiliang soldiers. Ma Teng and Huang Kui were captured. They insisted on their innocence, and Cao Cao led Miao Ze and Chun Xiang to testify. Ma Teng scolds Huang Kui:
It's a big mistake! I can't get rid of thieves for my country. It's God's will!
They were beheaded. The informers Miao Ze and Chun Xiang were also beheaded by Cao Cao, who thought it useless to keep such unrighteous people.
Ma Teng, a descendant of Han Fubo General Ma Yuan, is said to be of Qiang ethnic origin. He joined the army in the late Han Dynasty and rose to the rank of army Sima because of his merits. Later, he united with Han Sui and other people to rebel and separate his stronghold. Ma Teng was appointed as the general of the expedition to the West and settled in Yicheng when Li Xi and Guo Si were in power. Soon after that, they had conflicts with Li Xi and led their troops to attack each other. They were defeated and returned to Xiliang. They united with Han Sui and became brothers of different surnames. During the struggle between Cao and yuan, Ma Teng, under the persuasion of Zhong Yao and others, obeyed Cao Cao and helped Cao's army defeat Guo Yuan, Gao Gan and others. Later, Ma Teng and Han Sui came into conflict and attacked each other. Cao Cao sent people to dissuade him, so Ma Teng gave up his army and became an official in the court. He was granted the title of Wei Wei, and the army was handed over to his son Ma Chao. Later, Ma Chao launched an army against Cao Cao, and Ma Teng was killed by Cao Cao, destroying the three ethnic groups.
Ma Teng, the descendant of Ma Yuan, the general of Fubo in the Han Dynasty, is the prefect of Liang in the west of the Han Dynasty. At the time of Li Xi and Guo Si's political disorder, Ma Teng was granted the imperial edict of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty to levy a general in the West. He united with Han Sui to attack Li Xi. He was defeated because of the shortage of military supplies and returned to Xiliang. Emperor Xian of the later Han Dynasty was robbed by Cao Cao to Xudu, and Ma Teng entered the court. He took part in Dong Cheng's "plan of imperial edict of clothing belt" and went back to Xiliang to prepare troops and plot against Cao. Soon after, Dong Cheng and other people were killed, Ma Teng continued to rule Xiliang, and together with Liu Bei, he became Cao Cao's serious trouble. Cao Cao adopted the strategy of Xun you and recruited Ma Teng to Beijing in the name of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty. Ma Teng was loyal to the Han Dynasty and was unwilling to resist the imperial edict, so he brought only a small number of soldiers to Beijing to plot against Cao Cao. The plan leaked and was defeated and killed. His son Ma Chao wanted to avenge his father, so he set out to fight Cao Cao.
