The site of the royal tea garden of Yuan Dynasty is located in the south of Siqu stream, which is close to the mountain and level. Wuyishan has a long history of tea production. The tea of the tea garden was once a tribute, and the literati left their treasures.

Historical records

According to the records of Chong'an county annals, in the period of Zhengyuan (785-805 AD), there were "Yangao" tea made in the area of Wuyishan Mountain, which was steamed and roasted, ground and molded into a mass. This is the earliest Wuyi rock tea. Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Song Dynasty, praised in his tea chanting poems: "the millet sprouts by the Wuyi River, the former Ding and the latter Cai Xianglong." The contribution of Wuyi rock tea began in Song Dynasty, but the royal tea garden was founded in 1302 ad. According to the local records, when the imperial tea garden was founded, it once flourished. The general layout of the buildings in the garden is: Renfeng gate in the front, Baifa Hall (also known as the first spring Hall) in the back, Qingchan hall, Sijing Pavilion, Baofang Pavilion, Yanjia Pavilion, Yiji Pavilion, Fuguang Pavilion, etc. In addition, there are bitianqiao and tongxianjing. In 1328, Zhang ruiben, the magistrate of Chong'an County, built a tea farm on both sides of the garden. In the third year of Zhishun (1332 AD), the general manager of Jianning, amdusi, built a high platform on the Bank of Tongxian, five feet high and six feet square, which was called "Shoushan platform"; there was a pavilion on the platform, which was called "Shouquan Pavilion". It is said that every year on the day of "Jingzhe", Chongan county magistrate will hold a grand opening ceremony here. When the county magistrate knelt down to worship and read the sacrificial rites, the officials chanted the golden drum and yelled: "tea sprouts, tea sprouts! "Only when a ceremony is held can the mountain be opened for tea picking.

Influence of contribution

In the 36th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1557 AD), the government had to stop running tea farms. After that, the imperial tea garden with a history of more than 250 years was abandoned. Only a mouthful of sweet Tongxian well (also known as hulaiquan) is left.
