Honghuaerji Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica National Forest Park in Inner Mongolia was founded in May 2000. It is located at the West foot of Daxinganling and the south end of Ewenki Autonomous Banner in Hulunbeier city. It borders on Honghuaerji Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica National Nature Reserve in Inner Mongolia, Hulunbeier prairie in the north, Aershan city and Mongolia in the southwest. It is 120 kilometers away from Hailar District, where Hulunbuir city is located. It is a large-scale national forest park integrating leisure and entertainment, sightseeing and vacation, science popularization and exploration, camping and hunting. Honghuaerji Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica National Forest Park, with a total area of 6726 hectares, is mainly composed of evergreen sandy Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica system and vast grassland wetland landscape. It also has continuous and winding hills, beautiful lakes and mountains, snow and ice in northern China, rich and colorful ethnic customs and other landscape resources. There is the largest Mongolian Scotch pine forest belt in Asia and the only concentrated contiguous forest belt in China. Mongolian Scotch pine is now a national second-class precious protected tree species, which is concerned by the industry for its unique characteristics of wind and sand fixation, drought resistance and barren resistance, and has high scientific research and ornamental value. In addition, there are beautiful mountains and rivers, rich animal and plant communities in the forest area, so the park has become a hot tourist attraction in Hulunbuir.

There is the largest concentrated forest belt of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica in China, known as the "hometown of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica". Honghuaerji forestry bureau manages this forest resource, with a total construction area of 598000 hectares. The lush forest belt of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica is about 120 km long and 40 km wide. It is a natural green barrier in the south of the beautiful Hulunbeier grassland.

Honghuaerji is located in the transition zone from Daxinganling Mountain to Hulunbeier plain. It has a unique landform type, including low mountains, hills, plains, gullies and other landform types. It is mainly composed of ridge, slope, undulating sand and low mountains and hills. The slope is gentle, and the terrain is high in the South and low in the north.

The park is rich in natural resources, with towering ancient trees and dense vegetation. The maximum age of trees is 300-400 years.
Honghuaerji has concentrated natural sandy land of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica, with a total area of 598372 hectares, including 185000 hectares of woodland, with a forest coverage rate of 31.0%. The natural Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica forest in Honghuaerji National Forest Park has become the most spectacular scenery in the park. There are 4383 hectares of natural forest in the park, accounting for 65.2% of the total area of the forest park, including 4237 hectares of natural Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica forest, accounting for 63.0% of the total area of the park. The trees are 300 to 500 years old, and the towering trees with a diameter of more than 20 cm are scattered among them.

The main vegetation type of Honghuaerji is Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica, which is located in the intersection area of Eurasian steppe flora and Eurasian coniferous forest flora. The flora of Honghuaerji is mainly composed of East Asian floristic elements and Mongolian floristic elements, mixed with Pan Arctic elements, paleoarctic elements, Eastern paleoarctic elements and Central Asian elements.
Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica forest in the forest park is mainly composed of trees, shrubs and surface plants. Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica, Betula platyphylla, Populus davidiana, Larix kaempferi, salix mongolica, Litsea cubeba and Prunus Pluma are the main tree species of trees in the sandy land. Spiraea, Rosa multiflora, Caragana microphylla, Rhododendron Xing'an, and Yueju are the main shrubs. There are 56 species of national key protected animals (44 species of birds and 12 species of mammals), including 7 species of national class I key protected animals (5 species of birds and 2 species of mammals), 49 species of national class II key protected animals (39 species of birds and 10 species of mammals), and common wildlife are roe deer and rabbits They are wild boar, yellow sheep, etc.

In December 2013, Inner Mongolia Honghuaerji Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica National Forest Park was officially awarded as a national 4A scenic spot.
According to the overall planning, the forest park is divided into three functional areas. Cuiyue Lake Forest Resort is centered on Cuiyue lake, with a number of sightseeing attractions and projects, supplemented by cultural landscape and necessary reception facilities, reflecting the main features and functions of the park. Grassland wetland science popularization area reflects the waterscape of the Park, and forest hunting area reflects the exploration and hunting functions of the park. Forest Park has a relatively complete tourist reception facilities, at the same time has 1500 people dining and 300 people accommodation reception capacity, has been promoted to National Forest Park.
