Lingshan County is under the jurisdiction of Qinzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the south of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, northeast of Qinzhou City, adjacent to Beibu Gulf, Nanning and Beihai. It is the sub center of Pan Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the sub central city of Qinzhou. The county is more than 100 kilometers away from Nanning, Qinzhou, Beihai, Fangchenggang, Yulin and Guigang, forming an economic circle of one and a half hours with the six cities and 500 kilometers away from Guangzhou. It is the famous hometown of Chinese litchi, milk Buffalo, snake and tea. In addition, Lingshan County is also the famous hometown of fruits, aquatic products and fish.
Lingshan County is located on the Bank of Qinzhou Bay in the south of Guangxi, on the upstream of Qinjiang River, in the northeast of Qinzhou City, the core coastal industrial city of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. It is adjacent to Heng County of Nanning City in the north, Hepu County of Beihai City in the south, Pubei County in the East, Qinnan District and Qinbei District in the West. Lingshan County has a long history. It was established in Nanbin County in the 18th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (AD 598) and changed in the 10th year of Zhenyuan of Tang Dynasty (AD 794) Lingshan County is named after Xiling mountain (now known as Liufeng mountain). Originally belonging to Guangdong Province, it was included in Guangxi in 1965 and now belongs to Qinzhou City. With a total area of 3558.6 square kilometers, the county governs 17 towns, two streets, 389 village committees and 20 communities, with a total population of 1654700, making it the third most populous county in Guangxi. By the end of 2014, the urbanization level of Lingshan County was 41.6%, the built-up area of the county reached 28 square kilometers, and the urban population was 270000, including 50000 floating population,
The city scale has entered the ranks of medium-sized cities.
In October 2017, it was named National Garden County by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.

Historical evolution
In the 25th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (222 BC), Lingshan County belonged to Baiyue Prefecture. In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Lingshan County belonged to Xiangjun Prefecture.
During the Three Kingdoms period, Lingshan County was under the jurisdiction of the state of Wu. In the fifth year of Huangwu (AD 226), Lingshan County belonged to Guangzhou Hepu County. In the sixth year of Huangwu (227), Lingshan County belonged to Jiaozhou Hepu County. In Jin Dynasty, Lingshan County belonged to Jiaozhou Hepu County.
During the southern and Northern Dynasties, in 471, Lingshan County belonged to Yuezhou, Qi to Jiaozhou, and the first year of liangtianjian (502). Lingshan County belonged to Anzhou, and was under the system of Chen and Liang.
In the 18th year of kaihuang (598), Nanbin county was set up. The county government was set up in Nanbin Village (now southwest of jiuzhouwei). Nanbin county was the earliest name of Lingshan County, belonging to Qinzhou. In the third year of Daye (607), Nanbin County belonged to ningyue county. Tang Wude five years (622), Nanbin county is Qinzhou general office.
In the tenth year of Tang Zhenguan (636), Nanbin county government moved to fengziling South (now in Tangli village, Sanhai town). In the same year, Qinzhou prefecture government moved from Qinjiang county to Nanbin Village (Qinzhou prefecture government site) in jiuzhouxu, Lingshan County. Zhenyuan ten years (794), Nanbin County renamed Lingshan County, because the territory has a scenic spot Xiling mountain (now known as Liufeng mountain) and named.
In the Five Dynasties, Lingshan County belonged to Qinzhou, and Qinzhou led five counties: Qinjiang, Baojing, Neiting, Zunhua and Lingshan.
In 972, Zunhua County, Qinjiang county and Neiting county were abolished and merged into Lingshan County. Lingshan County still belongs to Qinzhou and is subordinate to Guangnan West Road. In February 1065, Lingshan County was moved to shiliufeng (east of Liufeng mountain), which is the seat of the county.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Lingshan County still belonged to Qinzhou. In 1280, Lingshan County belonged to the general manager's office of Qinzhou Road, Haibei South Road, Hunan Province. In 1369, Lingshan County belonged to Qinzhou Prefecture and Guangdong Province. In 1376, Lingshan County belonged to Lianzhou Prefecture and Leizhou Prefecture. In 1381, Lingshan County was changed from Lianzhou prefecture to Guangdong Province.
In 1440, GANZE, deputy envoy of Haibei Daobing, began to build Lingshan city.
The Qing Dynasty inherited the Ming system, and Lingshan County was under the jurisdiction of Lianzhou Prefecture, Guangdong Province.
In 1888, the Qing government allocated qiufenglian (now Pingji and other places in Qinbei District of Qinzhou City), boerlian (now Nali, Napeng and Nasi in Qinnan District of Qinzhou City), putilinan (now Naxiang and Changtan in Qinbei District) and qingtanglian (now Qingtang and other places in Qinbei District of Qinzhou City) to Qinzhou.
During the period of the Republic of China, Lingshan County was subordinate to Qinlian Road, Qinlian appeasement District, Nanlu appeasement district and the eighth administrative region of Guangdong Province. After liberation, the people's Government of Lingshan County was established on December 1, 1949. Lingshan County belonged to the South Road special district of Guangdong Province at that time. On August 30, 1950, it belonged to the Qinlian special district of Guangdong Province. On February 19, 1951, with the approval of the administrative affairs Council of the Central People's government, Qinxian, Fangcheng, Hepu, Lingshan and Beihai were entrusted to Guangxi Province. In January 1959, Lingshan County belongs to Zhanjiang special district of Guangdong Province Since then, Lingshan County, Pubei County, Hepu County, Qin County, Dongxing Autonomous County and Beihai city of Zhanjiang Prefecture of Guangdong Province have been divided into Guangxi from Zhanjiang Prefecture of Guangdong Province and set up Qinzhou Prefecture of Guangxi. Lingshan County is subordinate to Qinzhou Prefecture of Guangxi.
On June 28, 1994, Lingshan County belonged to Qinzhou City, Guangxi.
In 1996, Lingshan County covers an area of 3552 square kilometers and has a population of about 1.18 million. It has jurisdiction over 19 towns: Lingcheng Town, Sanhai Town, Xinwei Town, Fengtang Town, Pingshan Town, Shitang Town, Fozi Town, Pingnan Town, Yandun Town, Tanwei Town, Nalong Town, Sanlong Town, Luwu Town, Jiuzhou Town, Taiping Town, shaping Town, Wuli Town, Wenli town and bolao town. The county government is stationed in Lingcheng town.

On June 28, 2005, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 180) agreed to abolish Sanhai Town, merge the renovation system into Lingcheng Town, and keep the residence of Lingcheng town government unchanged. After the adjustment, the county governs 18 towns: Lingcheng Town, Xinwei Town, Fengtang Town, Pingshan Town, Shitang Town, Fozi Town, Pingnan Town, Yandun Town, Tanwei Town, Nalong Town, Sanlong Town, Luwu Town, Jiuzhou Town, Taiping Town, shaping Town, Wuli Town, Wenli town and bolao town. The county government is stationed in Lingcheng town.
In 2013, Lingcheng town was abolished and two sub district offices of Lingcheng and Sanhai were set up. At the same time, two administrative villages of Fucheng and Sanduo were changed into communities (Sanduo community neighborhood committee was established on July 30).

Geography
Lingshan County is located in the south of Guangxi and the northeast of Qinzhou City, with the geographic coordinates of 108 east longitude. 44''00''—109。 35 "00", N: 21. 51''00''—22。 The county is 150 km away from Nanning City, 100 km away from Qinzhou City, 120 km away from Qinzhou port, 150 km away from Beihai City, and 88 km away from Shinan railway station of lizhan railway.
