Layout structure

The longest water surface in the south-north direction is about 340 meters, and the widest in the east-west direction is about 130 meters. According to legend, Lianhuatang was called chenyutang in ancient times. According to historical records, "chenyutang was in xuejiawu, the place where Xue Shangshu's daughter died..." In the Song Dynasty, because Su Dongpo's good friend Foyin once lived here, Lianhuatang was also named Foyin lake. Today, on a large Taihu stone erected at the intersection of Lianhuatang scenic spot, there are three big characters of Foyin lake. In the Republic of China, it was also called Xinyi park. After the establishment of the people's Republic of China, it was expanded into Lianhuatang park.

Since then, they have never been seen in the temple every morning, and the nuns have no longer talked about it. Only the kind-hearted Lao Yi often remembers them, and two or three days in front of Guanyin Bodhisattva, he shouts, kowtows and prays: bless the lovers to get married!

One day, she took out a piece of crystal clear and dazzling jade plate from her arms and threw it out of the temple. The dust of the Buddha was thrown away, and instantly turned into a half acre pool. In the middle of the pool grew a blooming lotus flower. A pair of mandarin ducks were playing in the pool, and they were inseparable.

The young monk and the little nun escaped from the mountain. After a few years, they finally returned to their hometown. At this time, the temple of the past, after the chaos of war, has disappeared, in addition to the ruins, only a pond, a field. Here, they built their nests, opened up wasteland, and multiplied, becoming pioneers under the lotus tip. Later generations named the pond "lotus pond" in memory of them. At the bottom of the pond, a clear spring bubbled up and flowed out day and night along the mountain stream. The trickle formed the Majin River and poured into the Qiantang River all the way.
