Manshan Island
Manshan island is a mysterious island in sanmenwankou, 35.3km northeast of Haiyou town. Island volcanic tuff structure, lotus shaped, due to wave erosion, has been divided into East and West, west big east small. The total area is 0.4 square kilometers, and the highest point is 50.9 meters above sea level. There is a deep channel around the island, known as "Manshan channel", which is one of the main channels for ancient and modern ships to enter and leave Sanmen Bay. In the 1980s, thousands of pieces of ancient celadon were salvaged in the nearby sea area, which is suspected to be the remains of the shipwrecks of the Shang Yi vessels in the Song Dynasty.
origin
Manshan island is isolated in the sea, but it is full of the mystery of ancient marine civilization. It is said that in ancient times, there was a change of "sinking Tokyo and rising Shaoxing". The torrential flood immediately submerged the prosperous Tokyo city and reached the top of the mountain, so this island was called Manshan. It is said that there is an old road paved with pebbles at the foot of the mountain. There is a big camphor tree on the side of the road. Beside it stands a stone tablet with the inscription "this road leads to Tokyo". In 1957, the Department of cultural relics inspected the slope and pebble beach on the north side of the West Island, and found that there were many hard pottery pieces of the Warring States period, printed pottery pieces of the Eastern Han Dynasty, celadon pieces of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, and porcelain pieces of the two Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties. The Celadon of Shang and Zhou Dynasties is thick glaze with small square pattern. From the debris, we can identify pots, jars, bottles, pots, bowls and other pottery dishes, with string patterns, fine cloth patterns, cloud and thunder patterns, wave patterns and s patterns on the surface. These rich ancient cultural remains of the island are still a mystery. The most peculiar and puzzling thing is that there are five regular stone sheds arranged on the ridge. The roof of the shed has been overturned for a long time, and the wall especially exists. It is made of natural long stones and is surrounded by circular or oval buildings. The wall is 1.2-1.5 meters high. These strange primitive stone chambers are first seen on the coastal islands of Zhejiang Province. When were they built? What's the use? It's another mystery left by Man Shan.
geographical environment
There are a lot of reefs around Manshan island. The coastal zone is characterized by strong sea erosion landform, with sea erosion caves and gullies. The reefs are very rugged and rich in color. The island is uninhabited. It is 4km away from Huaao island in the East and about 4km away from xiawanshan island in the West. There is no liner to travel to the island. You have to hire a boat from Haiyou port or Jiantiao port.
tourist resources
It is said that in the Miaogou era, there was a change from the sinking of Tokyo to the rising of Shaoxing. The victims fled to this mountain. The surging sea water once overflowed to the top of the mountain, so it was called Manshan. In the old days, there was a road paved with pebbles at the foot of the mountain. There were camphor trees on the side of the road and a stone tablet beside it. It was engraved "Tokyo goes from here.". At present, there are only stumps left in the camphor tree, and the stone tablet has been submerged by mountain soil and weeds, which has become an unsolvable mystery. The main body of Manshan island is divided into East and West islands. The East Island is small and the West Island is large. The southeast end of the West Island is separated by two gullies, stretching out two small headlands. There was a waterway between the East and West islands. Due to the continuous accretion of pebbles carried by waves, it has become a natural pebble dam for a long time, connecting the two islands. In 1975, five stone sheds were found on the ridge of the West Island. On the northern slope of the West Island and the natural accumulation of pebbles, there are many hard pottery with inscriptions from the Warring States period, printed pottery with Chinese characters in the Eastern Han Dynasty, two-color pottery pieces, celadon fragments from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, and porcelain pieces from the southern and Northern Dynasties, the two Jin Dynasties, the Sui and the five Tang Dynasties. In addition, the alluvial cultural layer of printed pottery was found in the section of the collapsed ridge impacted by the waves, including fragments of cookers, containers and sacrificial vessels, pots, altars, bottles, pots and bowls. The vessels were decorated with 8-character fine cloth pattern, cloud thunder pattern, wave pattern and S pattern. The Celadon of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties is a thick body glaze decorated with small squares. There are many remains of ancient culture. Whether these remains are the sunken ships washed by the tides or are left behind by human activities in ancient times on the island has become a mystery for thousands of years. Among the numerous islands in Sanmen Bay, Manshan island is the only one with such rich connotation of ancient culture. Manshan Island, a lotus shaped Treasure Island, has both the advantages of human landscape and natural landscape, as well as many unsolved folk mysteries, attracting tourists from all over the world to explore the ancient scenery.
