Culture and religion
Due to the nature of immigrant society and the status of the largest city in Taiwan, religion has developed vigorously and pluralistically. Although mainly Buddhism and Taoism, there are also the largest number of Christians and Muslims in Taiwan.
Take Buddhism and Taoism as an example. There are 107 Buddhist temples and 154 Taoist temples in Taipei. Most of the gods worshipped in temples are Buddhas who came from their hometown with the immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong. After the 1950s, many residents from central and southern Taiwan moved to Taipei and invited their gods to Taipei to set up a branch. Therefore, most of the gods worshipped were Mazu, Wangye and Bodhisattva. The number of Buddhist and Taoist temples in Taipei is the largest in Northern Taiwan, and its wide range of religious sects almost covers all kinds of deities and Buddhas, which can be called the collection of Taiwan's religions.

Most of the large and medium-sized enterprises whose industries are distributed in other cities in Taiwan (such as Hsinchu, Kaohsiung, etc.) have their head offices in Taipei, forming the largest industrial production area and business district in Taiwan.
