Development history

In 2004, the first China (Tengzhou) Red Lotus Festival was held in Weishan Lake wetland.

In August 2008, Tengzhou City began the overall planning of the red lotus scenic spot in Weishan Lake Wetland of Tengzhou, Shandong Province.

In May 2010, the construction of Weishan Lake National Wetland Park began.

On December 13, 2011, China Forestry Administration officially issued a notice approving the establishment of Weishan Lake National Wetland Park.

As of June 2015, there are 325 species of vertebrates in the wetland. There are 85 species of fish, 8 species of amphibians, 9 species of reptiles, 207 species of birds and 16 species of mammals. Among vertebrates, there are 2 species of first class protected animals, 22 species of second class protected animals and 43 species of key protected animals in Shandong Province. There are 31 species of wildlife protected in cites, 109 species in 227 species of agreement between China and Japan for the protection of migratory birds and their habitats, accounting for 48%, and 25 species in 81 species of agreement between China and Australia for the protection of migratory birds and their habitats, accounting for 31%. In addition, there are zooplankton, benthos, insects and other invertebrates in the planning area.

Honghe square

Red Lotus Square is located in the center of Weishan Lake Wetland red lotus scenic spot, which is a transit hub connecting water and land. The square has four landscapes: lotus blossom, lotus pond flower rain, red lotus fairy and Lotus Lake windmill.

Liankaishengshi is 20 meters high and unique in shape. It is known as the first lotus in Jiangbei and the symbol of the scenic spot. Lianchi Huayu water spray height is 19.8 meters, every 10 seconds to change a shape, and lotus blossom echo, very spectacular.

Ten thousand mu fast growing forest

The fast-growing forest covers an area of more than 50000 mu, and more than 30000 foreign fast-growing poplar trees have been introduced. The forest and fish ponds crisscross the whole forest area, forming a structure of "fishing under the forest" and maximizing the land yield.

Lotus boutique garden is located in Honghe square in the south, Furong street in the north, Baihe poetry Gallery in the East and Lvyun Avenue in the West. It covers an area of 100000 square meters, with more than 100 kinds of lotus and many aquatic plants.

Panlong Island

Panlong island is the largest group of islands in the scenic Lake, covering an area of one square kilometer. On the island, the reeds are luxuriant, the flowers and trees are sparse, and the plank road is winding and winding. On the islands, there are Emperor Qianlong's inquiry office - Imperial clinic Pavilion, the location shooting base of railway guerrillas - xiaolizhuang, island viewing Pavilion, reed maze, fishermen's fishing equipment display and other scenic spots.
