In 1987, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the people's Government of Chenxi (now Suxian District).
The 18th spring in the world is also known as "Yuanquan Xiangxue". Lu Yuyu and Li Jiqing, who were known as "tea God" in Tang Dynasty, thought that the water of Chenzhou Yuanquan should be listed as the 18th spring in the world, so they got their name. They were listed as one of the "eight sceneries of Chenyang". The literati of past dynasties went to the palace and left ink marks such as "the 18th spring in the world" and "Gangu in Hunan". It has excellent location, convenient transportation, pleasant climate, long-term average temperature of 21 ℃, abundant rainfall and excellent ecological environment. It is an ideal place for urban sightseeing and leisure with good economic benefits and great potential for land appreciation.
The spring water flows out from the round hole on the stone wall and forms a round pool on the ground. Therefore, the spring is also called round spring. According to Li Daoyuan's notes to the water classic of the Northern Wei Dynasty, the round spring water at that time was "warm while cold.". It's very green in the cold The warm place is white and turbid The water in a pool is quite different, which is really rare. The ancients called it "Yuanquan Xiangxue" and listed it as one of the eight scenic spots in Chenzhou. Yuanquan is a high-quality mineral water with crystal clear color, mellow water quality and sweet taste. Making tea with round spring water is fragrant and wonderful. According to the records of Chenzhou in Wanli, a Tang Dynasty man named Zhang Youxin wrote a book called Jian Cha Ji, saying that he got a book in the monk's room, which said that Lu Yu, the "tea God" of the Tang Dynasty, and Li Jiqing, when commenting on water products, divided the world's Jian Cha into 20 grades, and Chenzhou Yuanquan ranked 18th. In 1218 A.D., wancong, a Zhijun officer in Chenzhou, Southern Song Dynasty, engraved "the 18th spring in the world" on the stone wall at the top left of the spring. Since then, Yuanquan has become famous as "the 18th spring in the world".
In 1987, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the people's Government of Chen county (Suxian District). This spring is rich in minerals, with superior geographical location, convenient transportation, pleasant climate, abundant rainfall and excellent ecological environment.
