Zhuge military base is located in the south of Minshan Road, Qinzhou District, Tianshui city. It is said that during the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu, led the northern expedition. Fearing that the Shu army would not yield to the soil and water in Longyou, he ordered the soldiers to take a bag of Sichuan soil with them. After the army arrived in Tianshui and drank water, they realized that the soil and water in Qinzhou were the same as those in Sichuan and Sichuan. Then they piled up the soil in the south of the East religious center of Tianshui City and formed a mound. This mound still exists today. Therefore, it is the victory of Qinzhou and one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Qinzhou.

It is said that when the Shu army marched and fought, each of them carried a "local bag", which contained the soil of his hometown. When they went to a foreign land to drink or eat, they sprinkled a small amount of soil in their diet to prevent them from acclimatization. After the Zhuge army conquered Tianshui City, they found that the water quality here was very good. They didn't use the soil in the local bags, and none of the soldiers were unconvinced. Moreover, it will be a fierce battle in Tianshui, and the local bag will become a burden. So the soldiers took off their "local bags" outside the east gate of Tianshui City and poured the soil in the bags together to form a big mound eight feet high.

The terrain outside the east gate of Tianshui city is open and flat, which is an ideal place for military training and array performance. Zhuge Liang just made use of this mound. He often stood on high mounds to command and train the army, rectify military discipline, and distribute troops. Later, it became a popular place for people to pay homage to Zhuge Liang and was named "ZHUGE military base".

"ZHUGE military base" is one of the Eight Sights of ancient Qinzhou, in the south of Minshan Road, east of Qincheng district. Originally, it was a cone-shaped mound with a large bottom and flat top. It was more than Zhang high. There was a stele Pavilion in front of the mound. The stele was like the door of a room. It was widely planted with pines and cypresses. It was lush, solemn and elegant. At noon, when the sun is shining high, there is no projection on the Zhuge barracks, which is also called "shadowless pier" by local villagers. It is also clearly recorded in the annals of Tianshui county.

Today, Zhuge military base park is built close to the mountain, with the temple of marquis Wu and the statue of Zhuge Liang, as well as pavilions and pavilions for visitors to have a rest.
