Kecuo Village
Kecuo village is a village under the jurisdiction of Nanpu Town, Quangang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is located 3.8km to the east of Nanpu town government, adjacent to Xianfeng village committee in the southeast, qiucuo village committee in the South and Meizhou Bay in the north.
During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the villagers of Ke family in Putian moved here, hence their surnames. The village is rich in oysters. In the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed shecuo, which is still called Kecuo.
Historical evolution
The eldest son of xuenonggong, the third son of shanyougong, moved to Kecuo Township, donglinpu, Shidu County, Huian County, Quanzhou Prefecture; he was called shecuo village, Qinglong Township in the Republic of China. In 1958, the commune was changed into Kecuo village committee of Nanpu Town, Quangang District, Quanzhou City. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to 10 dudonglinpu, Meidong Township qinglongbao in the Republic of China, Batou District Qinglong Township in 1949, and 11 District Qinglong Township in 1952. In 1958, Chaoxian commune was established, and qiucuo and Kecuo villages were merged to form qiuke brigade. In 1961, Kecuo brigade was established. In 1985, it was renamed Kecuo village committee, belonging to Nanpu township.
Administrative subordination and traffic location
The village is located in the South Bank of Meizhou Bay, half mountain and half sea. The trend of the mountain range is like the dragon tail extending from southeast to northwest. There is a "Shiyu island" in the northwest and a thermal power plant has been built. There is a "Baijiao island" in the northeast and a wharf has been built. There is a haven between the two places and a sacrificial platform on the shore. The Tonggang highway in the east of the village and the coastal passage in the south of the village meet at the intersection of baishimen street in the village. A new residential area has been opened up between the original "Jianfeng mountain" and "hilltop" in the east of the village to accommodate the relocated households in the area of "hongshanzi" which was expropriated due to the construction of a thermal power plant. The government is now on the right side of the gate of the thermal power plant.
Population, land area
It has two natural villages: Kecuo village and Beiwang village, and nine villager groups. There are 1116 families with Ke surname and 72 families with Lin surname. The village has 72 households and 250 people.
Property economy
The economy of the village mainly depends on the fishing industry. The fishermen are well-known for their bravery in fighting against the storm and fishing operations.
