Baofeng mountain generally refers to Huayang temple

Huayang temple, also known as Baofeng mountain, is one of the famous temples in northern Guizhou. Its predecessor was Huayang temple built in the early Ming Dynasty (1395). It is located in Zhima Town, Huichuan District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, about 25 kilometers away from the urban area.

Historical evolution

In 1395, Huayang temple was built in the early Ming Dynasty;

In February 1935, the Red Army's long march through here laid the foundation for victory and became a revolutionary red scenic spot;

In 1958, it was destroyed, leaving only the vague and elegant stone column stool;

In September 1949, after the liberation of Guizhou, Baofeng mountain was rebuilt and became a base for suppressing bandits and a school for teaching and educating people;

In 1980, the masses raised money to renovate the central hall, namely the Wuyue hall;

In 2000, the masses raised their own funds to renovate the lower hall, which is the twelfth Hall of Yama;

In 2010, the masses raised money to rebuild the upper hall, namely the Great Buddha Hall.

In January 2017, the masses raised money to rebuild Guanyin hall.

According to the eight trigrams of the book of changes, "Huayang Temple" was built on the precipitous place and the top of the Qifeng mountain. The three halls of heaven, earth and man were divided into upper, middle and lower ones.

The upper hall, namely the Great Buddha Hall, is the heaven, and it is divided into three layers, which are dedicated to the old mother of yaochi, the Jade Emperor and Sakyamuni;

The central hall, that is, the five mountains hall, is dedicated to the five mountains and other gods;

The lower hall, that is, the twelfth Hall of the king of hell, is dedicated to the king of hell and the Lord of the twelfth hall.

Traffic information

By bus

Zunyi maocaopu passenger station takes Zhima bus and Guanyinsi bus to get on and off Zhima street, the fare is about 25 yuan; when you get to Zhima bus, you can transfer to zhaoerping minibus, the fare is 5 yuan, about 10 minutes.

 

Self driving

(1) G75 Lanhai Expressway gets off from tonggongsi station in Zunyi and turns left through Gaoping town (Sidu station gets off the expressway and goes to Zunyi) --- Daqiao turns left (right) --- Shawan Town -- shanpen Town -- Zhima Town -- Baofeng mountain;

(2) Renhuai section of renchi Expressway passes through Xitou town Guanyin Temple Zhima town Baofeng mountain.

 

Buddhist activities

Incense Club: whenever the incense club is held on January 9 and June 19 of the lunar calendar, it always attracts many tourists to pray. All the way up, you will always see the roadside branches will be windward and floating red cloth. In the temple, the incense flourished.

Buddha Kaiguang: Buddha Kaiguang is a regular Buddhist activity in Baofeng mountain.
