As of 2019, Jiangyin Museum has more than 10000 cultural relics in its collection, of which 272 are included, including 35 first-class cultural relics and 237 second and third-class cultural relics.

Among the cultural relics in its collection, the gold and silver wares of the song, yuan and Ming Dynasties are the most characteristic, most of which are jewelry and daily utensils. Historical evolution

The building area of Jiangyin museum is 12000 square meters. The new building is three stories high with flat roof. The first and second floors are public space and exhibition hall, and the third floor is office area and warehouse. Preface hall more than 400 square meters, equipped with public address equipment, can provide services for students, social organizations. Inside is the central hall. The large imported white marble stairs, covering an area of about 400 square meters, connect with the preface hall to form an audience activity area with large space. The glass roof is used for artificial lighting to make the indoor light bright and give the audience a sense of comfort. There is also a rest place for the audience, with a large screen TV to broadcast archaeological activities and other special films.

Jiangyin museum is a county-level, local and comprehensive collection institution. Since its establishment in 1988, through scientific and archaeological excavation, social collection, celebrity donation and other ways, the museum's collection has become increasingly rich and diverse. The Prehistoric Civilization Exhibition of Jiangyin cultural relics includes Majiabang culture, Songze culture and Liangzhu culture. At the same time, there are many treasures among the artifacts unearthed over the years.

Since ancient times, Jiangyin has had the atmosphere of "worshiping the ancient style, valuing culture, loving art, appreciating fine and collecting well". Most of the collections, such as calligraphy, painting, gold and stone, literary games and miscellaneous articles, come from folk donations. Jiangyin Museum has always attached great importance to the collection as the main content, exhibition and cultural relics protection as the main position to carry out comprehensive scientific research. Among the professionals employed, there are 3 associate researchers, 2 librarians and 2 assistant librarians.

In 2009, Jiangyin museum set up a scientific research department, mainly to protect and analyze the specimens in the museum's natural Herbarium. The protection of cultural relics is also studied and discussed. The paper-based cultural relics are protected by RP, and new materials are used for specimen protection.

 

Jiangyin Museum founded the academic journal Jiangyin Cultural Museum, which is an academic journal sponsored by the museum. By the end of 2011, it has issued 26 issues, which has a certain influence in the cultural and Museum circles.
