Yuandu Lake
Yuandu lake is the second functional area of Bailang river regulation - waterscape park area. Hangzhou West Lake style greening mode is adopted in the construction of the area. Origin of "kite capital"
Kites were called "kites" in ancient times and "kites" in the north. Most people think that kite originated in China, and then spread all over the world, is a traditional folk crafts. In fact, the earliest kites in China were made of wood. During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Mozi (478-392 BC), a philosopher of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, once "spent three years flying up into the sky with wooden kites...". Mozi in Lushan (today's Shandong Weifang territory), "wood for the Harrier, three years, fly a day and lose.". This is to say that after three years of research and trial production, Mozi finally made a wooden bird out of wood, but it broke down after only one day's flight. This "wooden kite" (or "wooden kite") made by Mozi is the earliest kite in China and the world. (about 300 BC), 2400 years ago. It was not until the Eastern Han Dynasty, when Cai Lun invented papermaking, that people began to make kites out of paper, known as "paper kites.".
Kite capital of the world
Weifang is the world famous kite capital. On April 1, 1984, the people's Government of Weifang held the first Weifang International Kite fair according to the suggestion of American friend David chekley. Since then, the annual Weifang International Kite Fair has been held in Weifang. Up to 2006, Weifang has held 23 consecutive kite fairs. In April 1987, Weifang was designated as the "kite capital of the world" by the presidium of the Fifth International Kite Association. The international kite Federation also decided to set its headquarters in Weifang.
Features of scenic spots
According to the plan, the Qingnian Road on the West Bank of Yuandu lake will be moved to the west, and the west side of the road will be further excavated to build a dike to divert water into the lake. The original Qingnian Road will be changed into a commercial landscape road similar to Yanggong dike on the West Lake in the scenic area, driving the development and construction of the West Bank of Yuandu lake. Along the lake, Xingyue square, guanhuxuan, windsurfing wharf, private club and earth covered building have taken shape, equipped with tennis court, basketball court, natural swimming pool, water sports and other commercial facilities. The east bank is afforested with urban forest to form the background shoreline of ecological forest land. On the east side of the coastline, a waterfront style commercial street is planned and constructed to embody the atmosphere, create business atmosphere and gather popularity.
