Tomb of Zhang Jiuling
Zhang Jiuling's tomb is located at the foot of Luoyuan cave in the northern suburb of Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. Zhang Jiuling was the Prime Minister of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty during the Kaiyuan period. In the spring of the 28th year of Kaiyuan (740 A.D.), he went back to his hometown to sweep his tomb. He died of illness at his home. He was 63 years old and was posthumously named "Wenshu Gong". It was buried in the 29th year southeast of Kaiyuan.

Shaoguan has a subtropical humid monsoon climate. It is hot in summer and cool in winter, and occasionally snowy in winter (only in the high places of Pingshi Jinjiling and the north of Shaoguan). The annual average temperature is about 20 degrees, the average temperature in January is about 10 degrees, and the average temperature in July is about 29 degrees. Taking Shaoguan as the transfer station, there are tourist buses to the scenic spots near Shaoguan City, and most of them are CMB. If there is no direct bus to the scenic spots, you can transfer to the cities and counties at the station first. You can also contact the railway station or bus station, or take part in a one-day (or two-day) tour of the local travel agency.

Railway
The main artery of Beijing Guangzhou railway runs through the city, passing through Shaoguan City, Lechang, Ruyuan and Qujiang, with 65 pairs of trains passing through every day. There are express trains between Shaoguan and Shenzhen and between Shaoguan and Guangzhou every day.
Visitors from the north can choose to get off at this station and then go to other cities in Guangdong Province, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhaoqing. Shaoguan railway station is located on the East Bank of Zhenjiang river. You can take bus No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10 to get there.

Shaoguan highway extends in all directions. National highways 105, 106, 107 and 323 run through Shaoguan. The roads from Shaoguan to Guangzhou are all secondary roads, with a total length of 290 km. As the Gantang Wengcheng section of Beijing Zhuhai expressway has been opened to traffic, the time from Shaoguan to Guangzhou has been shortened by one hour. Most of the tickets are sold by no one, and the whole journey is 1 yuan. There are also two round the city buses. If you want to visit Shaoguan, you can take these two sightseeing buses No. 12 and No. 13. Main attractions
Zhang Jiuling's tomb is a family style tomb group. In front of the tomb is Zhang Wenxue temple. About 120 meters behind the temple is the tomb of Zhang Jiuling and his wife Lu, his younger brother Zhang Jiugao and Jiuzhang. It is a representative Tomb of Tang Dynasty in Guangdong Province. Zhang Jiuling's tomb is a brick chamber structure. It is located in the north and south of the block. The plane is in the shape of "ancient". It is divided into three parts: tomb chamber, corridor and ear chamber. The tomb is the main building, with a four corner top. It is 7.98 meters long, 4.8 meters wide and 5.35 meters high. There are frescoes on the four walls and in the corridor, such as the maid flat peach garden. It is the earliest and unique Tang Dynasty frescoes unearthed in Guangdong. The original stone statues of Shinto in front of the tomb are separated on both sides. Today, there are "Shinto stele" written by Xu Hao, a famous calligrapher in Lingnan of Tang Dynasty, and "guyoupushexiangguo zhangjiugongling stele" written by Du Fu. There is a hall under the tomb. There are also inscriptions from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the hall.
Historical evolution
In 1919, the tomb group was completely renovated, and the Zhang Wenxue temple was rebuilt, and the tombstone, Shinto tablet, boundary tablet and Du Fu's baai poem tablet were re carved.
In July 1960, due to the destruction of some tombs, the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Administration Commission cleaned up and excavated the tomb again. Because the tomb was stolen, only a small amount of jade pieces and pottery pots were left,

Profile
Zhang Jiuling, named Qujiang, was born in Shaoguan. He was a poet of Tang Dynasty. He was honest and upright. Later, he was demoted for offending the fatuous Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty. On May 7, Kaiyuan 28, he died in a private family in Qujiang and was buried in Wujiang District of Shaoguan. He was 63 years old. After an Shi rebellion, Tang Dezong sent envoys to Shao to offer sacrifices to his tomb, and issued an imperial edict to present it to situ.
Zhang Jiuling is a famous statesman, writer, poet and Prime Minister with courage and vision. He was loyal, dutiful, impartial, outspoken, dare to admonish, select talents, do not bend the law for personal gain, do not follow the crowd, dare to fight against evil forces, and made a positive contribution to the "Kaiyuan rule". Since the death of Zhang Jiuling, every prime minister of Tang Xuanzong has to ask "is his demeanor like that of Jiuling?" Therefore, it has always been respected by later generations.
