Yu Jing Memorial Hall
Yujing memorial hall is located in Yuxiang lane, Jianguo Road, Shaoguan City. There is a large-scale simple and elegant antique building. It is a historical celebrity memorial hall, which was rebuilt in 1999 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the birth of Yu Jing, a famous official of the Song Dynasty.
brief introduction
Yujing (1000-1064 A.D.) was originally named Xigu, with the name of andao and Wuxi. Qujiang, Shaozhou, Northern Song Dynasty (now Shaoguan, Guangdong). He was born in the third year of Xianping of emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty and died in the first year of Zhiping of emperor Yingzong at the age of 65.
Yujing memorial building is a duplex building with the characteristics of Lingnan ancient dwellings, with a total construction area of 273 square meters. It has one hall, five rooms, two entrances and three doors, and high-rise buildings. "Fengcaitang" is solemn, elegant and unique. On the west side of Fengcai hall, there are fine carved marble Inscriptions: on the left side, there are inscriptions of Yu Jing God stele given by song and Ouyang Xiu; on the right side, there are inscriptions of Yu Zhong Xiang Gong Fu Lue. In the hall of elegant demeanor, there is a magnificent "elegant demeanor Liufang Pavilion", in which sits a lifelike wood sculpture of Yu Jing. It is said that the design of this statue is based on the real statue of Xianggong, a famous sage in Yu's genealogy. The original statue is embroidered with yellow silk from the palace. It was once stored in the elegant building of Shaoguan City and collected by the provincial cultural relics team in the 1960s. The newly built Yu Zhongxiang ancestral hall has restored the ancient archway of Yu's ancestral hall, and the archway building is simple and magnificent.

According to Yu's genealogy, Yu Jing's ancestors lived in Bocui square, Yuxiang lane. Yu Jing's former residence has been built as Yu Zhongxiang's ancestral hall since the Pingnian of Song Dynasty. It is called "Yu prime minister's ancestral hall" by the local people and has been repaired in all dynasties. In the sixth year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, Yu Yuantao, magistrate of Qujiang County, rebuilt it and rebuilt it in the 20th year of the Republic of China. During the Anti Japanese War, most of Yuzu ancestral hall was bombed and destroyed by Japanese invaders, leaving a small number of houses. Later, the descendants of the Yu family lived in scattered places without management, and the local people changed the ancestral hall into a bungalow, but the ancient place name "Yuxiang lane" has been preserved to this day. In 1999, in order to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Yu Jing's birth, under the strong support and sponsorship of Shaoguan municipal government, Municipal Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Yu's clan association in Hong Kong, Yu Jing Memorial Hall (Yu Zhongxiang ancestral hall) was built in Yu Xiang lane.
