Wang Yirong Memorial
Wang Yirong memorial hall is located in Fushan District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It was originally located in the center of urban street in Fushan city. Later, it was moved near Yanchang village, Minfu Road, Fushan city. Now, it has been moved to Fushan Wenbo garden at the intersection of Qinglongshan Riverside South Road and Intel Avenue.
The exhibition content of Wang Yirong memorial hall is divided into six parts, namely: "brilliant life, father of oracle bone, loyal for thousands of years, lasting style, excellent works handed down, Oracle Bone calligraphy". Wang Yirong's relics, letters, works and calligraphy are displayed.
In September 2018, it was identified as a national third-class Museum.
Historical evolution
Wang Yirong memorial hall is located in the ancient building complex in the center of Chengcheng street, Fushan District, with three courtyards and 55 houses, covering an area of 799 square meters. Its predecessor was the studio "tingsongzhai" of Li chengjiu, a famous painter in Fushan. It was a gathering place for literati in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1927, Li chengjiu donated it to the World Red Cross Society as the site of Fushan branch. In 1984, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Yantai City, and now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Shandong Province.
In October 1989, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the discovery of Oracle Bone Inscriptions in China, in order to commemorate the achievements of Wang Yirong, the first patriotic scholar who discovered oracle bone inscriptions, the Cultural Relics Bureau of Shandong Province and the people's Government of Fushan District established the "Wang Yirong Memorial Hall" for Mr. Wang Yirong in his hometown.
On June 18, 1998, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Wang Yirong's discovery of oracle bone inscriptions, Yantai municipal Party committee and municipal government invested 1 million yuan to hold a large-scale international seminar and move the new museum. Wang Yirong memorial is located in the north of Fushan City, the former site of dachengzhan, No. 816, Yanchang village, Fushan high tech industrial zone.

architectural composition
The former site of dachengzhan was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. There are more than 70 original houses and more than 50 existing houses. It faces south from the north and has four courtyards, covering a total area of 5318.07 square meters. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Shandong Province.
Exhibition
The contents of the exhibition are divided into six parts, namely: "glorious life", "father of Oracle Bone", "loyal forever", "style forever", "excellent works handed down", etc., showing Wang Yirong's relics, more than 300 pieces of letters, writings, calligraphy, oracle bone tablets, relics used in organizing League exercises and anti allied forces. More than 200 pieces of excellent works and treasures of national leaders, famous historians at home and abroad, scholars of oracle bone inscriptions, and famous calligraphers and painters in China are also collected in the museum.
Protection and development
On August 2, 1995, Wang Yirong memorial hall was named as excellent social education base of Shandong Province by Shandong Provincial Department of culture and bureau of cultural relics; on January 21, 1997, it was named as patriotism education base of Yantai city by Yantai municipal Party committee and municipal government; on November 11, 2004, it was named as patriotism education base of Yantai city by Yantai Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee.
Profile
Wang Yirong (1845-1900), the word zhengru, also the word Liansheng. He was born in Yantai, Shandong Province. He was a Jinshi of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. He went to Guozijian to sacrifice wine. He was a famous epigrapher of Qing Dynasty, a discoverer of Oracle Bone Inscriptions and a patriot. In the autumn of 1899, oracle bone inscriptions were found in Beijing. In 1900, Wang Yirong became the head of the regiment of the capital to fight against the invasion of Beijing by the Allied forces of the eight countries. He led the army and the people to fight bloody battles and died for the country.
Wang Yirong Plaza
On October 19, 2012, the only Wang Yirong Institute of osteology in China was established in Fushan. Due to the limited space of the former Wang Yirong memorial hall, the exhibition and presentation skills are relatively old. The Research Association will set up a research platform for Wang Yirong and oracle bone culture to dig out Wang Yirong's celebrity resources more deeply and extensively. The Fushan District Party committee and the district government decided to build Wang Yirong square and move the Wang Yirong memorial hall into it after completion. Wang Yirong square is located in the south of Qinglong mountain, Fushan District, Yantai City, covering an area of 440 mu, with a total construction area of 34000 square meters. In 2014, the main project was completed. The official opening hours of the new museum are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 16:30 p.m. on August 11. It closes every Monday and receives about 2000 people a day.
