Yuetan nunnery
Yuetan nunnery was built in the 45th year of Kangxi, located at 21 Tongcheng Road, Hefei city.
brief introduction
According to Hefei county annals, "Yuetan nunnery is located in the south gate. It was rebuilt in 1706, the 45th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign. There is a tablet written by Huang Jihui, a native of the city. The old annals were built in the Tang Dynasty." It used to be a large Buddhist nunnery, facing south in the north and Tongcheng road in the East. There are Mountain Gate, main hall, Guanyin hall and monasteries. Once you enter the mountain gate, there are four rooms. Yuetan nunnery was originally a large Buddhist nunnery, facing south in the north and Tongcheng road in the East. There are Mountain Gate, main hall, Guanyin hall and monasteries. When one enters the mountain gate, there are four rooms for the original two generals of hem ha; when two enters the main hall, there are six rooms for the original three Buddhas of Sakyamuni, pharmacist and Mitha; when three enters the Guanyin hall, there are six rooms for the original three Bodhisattvas of Guanyin, Manjusri and Puxian; when four enters the monastic room, there are four rooms on each side, with a total of more than 30 brick and wood flat tile rooms. Later, it was gradually destroyed. The mountain gate and the main hall were changed into houses, and the bells, drums and steles were destroyed. Many monks and nuns, such as Kong, Tang, Shen and Zhu, died one after another, and their monastic houses were demolished. At present, there are only two Guanyin halls, in which there is a Buddhist hall dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, and now it is the abbot of monk and nun Jie Hui. Now the gate of the nunnery faces east. The black painted gate is inlaid with copper rings and engraved with gold couplets. It is still shining. In front of the door, a couplet full of Zen rhyme - "moonlight is bright, Zen heart is quiet, pool shadow is clear, and hue is empty" makes scholars stop to chant and become a different landscape.
reputation
Old look
Yuetan nunnery is very small, but it has a small reputation, because there are many pilgrims here
Break. The couplet in front of the door with full Zen rhyme - "moonlight is bright, Zen heart is quiet, pool shadow is clear, and hue is empty" makes scholars stop to chant and become a different scenery.
Before liberation, the incense in the nunnery was flourishing. Yuetan nunnery was first built on the outskirts of the city. At that time, there were luxuriant forests and bamboos, luxuriant grass, clear waves and few people. The most beautiful time is on the moon, when the moon and the shadow of the pool complement each other. It is a reproduction of the Zen hometown outside the world that "birds stay in the trees by the pool, monks knock on the door under the moon".
New face
Every summer, monks and nuns are able to provide boiled water to passers-by for free. An orphan studies in a primary school attached to a normal university for free, and Yuetan temple is where she lives. She takes Buddhism as her home, and monks and nuns are her relatives. Since last autumn, my "contact" with Yuetan temple has suddenly become "intimate". This is because my little grandson went to the primary school attached to the normal university. When he was waiting for his study every day, he would often stare at Yuetan nunnery in the world of mortals and read the Buddhist couplet, which would give birth to infinite feelings
