Penglai Fairy Island
Penglai Fairy Island, also known as the "three gods mountain" on the sea, is located in Penglai District, Yantai City, Shandong Province.
It doesn't exist
Penglai originated from the legend of three gods mountain on the sea, which is just a kind of awe of mirage. The incomprehensible phenomenon can only be replaced by gods.
Penglai was also called Dengzhou in ancient times. But Penglai is not Penglai. In addition, the construction of Penglai is closely related to the legendary Penglai Fairy Island. Penglai (Dengzhou) is one of the most frequent places in the world where mirages appear because of its special geographical location. The ancients did not understand the science. When they thought that it was a place where immortals lived, they also thought that there was an elixir. The legend of the three gods mountain on the sea probably began here and then spread .
Qin and Han Dynasties were the heyday of searching for immortals and medicine. The first emperor of Qin Dynasty and Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty all went to Penglai to search for immortals and medicine. (there is no way, there are often mirages in this place), especially Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, who searched for immortals eight times but couldn't. According to historical records and Hanshu, Emperor Hanwu's tour of the sea lasted about eight times for 23 years, and nearly every time he got to Dengzhou. This is because the alchemists at that time believed that Penglai fairy mountain should be on the sea to the north of Penglai. In March of 112BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty first came to the sea. "Yifa boat ordered thousands of people to pray for Penglai deities" in Shiji Xiaowu Ben Ji. In the first year of Yuanfeng (110 BC), "the alchemist even said that if the mountains of Tonglai gods could be obtained But to the sea to see, Ji Tong Penglai Yan "< Shiji Xiaowu Ben Ji. In December of the first year of the Taichu period (104 BC), it was "near the Bohai Sea, and will be connected to Laizhi by wangci" (Han Shu Jiao Si Zhi). In the third year of Taichu period (102 BC), "the East returned to the sea, and those who went to the sea and asked for gods" were Mo Yan and ran Yipai (asking for immortal boats and immortals), (Shiji Xiaowu Ben Ji).
Of course, Emperor Hanwu's pursuit of immortality ended in failure. So in the first year of Taichu (104 BC), when he arrived at Dengzhou on his fifth sea tour, he ordered people to build a city called "Penglai" to fill his thirst. From then on, there was a real place name in the world, Penglai. There are many records about this in historical and local records. People in Ming Dynasty annotated "Tongdian" written by du you of Tang Dynasty: "Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty saw Penglai mountain in the sea here, which was named because of the construction of the city." However, two years before the death of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, he finally realized: "there are no immortals in the world. They are all demons!" So "I learned about Fang Shi's pursuit of immortality", which put an end to the upsurge of seeking immortality in Qin and Han Dynasties.
Historical development
Penglai mountain, also known as Penglai, Pengshan, pengqiu, Penghu, Penglai Fairy Island, etc.
According to Chinese mythology, there are three sacred mountains in the Bohai Sea: Penglai, Yingzhou and abbot. They are the places where the immortals live. Since ancient times, they have been the places where the first emperor of Qin and Emperor Wu of Han sought immortals and visited medicine. All the things on them are white, the palace towers are made of gold and silver, and the trees of zhuxuan are all overgrown. All Huashi have a taste, and they can live forever after eating. There is a sentence "Penglai mountain is in the sea" in Shanhaijing and haineidongjing; there are also records in Liezi Tangwen that "there are five mountains in the east of Bohai Sea, one is Daiyu, two is Yuanqiao, three is fanghu, four is Yingzhou and five is Penglai". According to the records, the other two mountains were caught by the legendary giant of Longbo kingdom to guard the tortoise, so they sank in the sea. It can be seen that Qin Shihuang did not enjoy the right of invention of Shenshan "Penglai".
The legend of "Eight Immortals crossing the sea" also takes place here. It is said that eight immortals, including LV Dongbin, tie Guai Li, Zhang Guolao, Han Zhongli, Cao Guojiu, he Xianggu, LAN Caihe and Han Xiangzi, display their treasures after they get drunk in Penglai Pavilion, ride the waves and cross the sea. "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, show their own abilities", "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, show their own supernatural powers" or "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, show their own skills" So the legend of "things" spread.
There is another saying that Penglai Fairy Island refers to Taiwan today. In addition, because of the geographical distribution of Japan, there are also three islands in Penglai as the example
