Yongningbao
Yongningbao is located in Xindian Village, Jiancaoping District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. The wall of Yongning castle is a cultural relic of Ming Dynasty. Yongning castle has been the main crossing from Yangqu to North and northwest Shanxi since ancient times. Pedestrians, donkeys, horses and vehicles often stay here. There are many shops in the village. It is said that it was called Shilipu in Sui Dynasty. In Ming Dynasty, it was changed into Xindian Village and Yongning castle was built.
According to the inscription of Yongning Second Fort written by Huang tingshou of Zhiming Dynasty in Yangqu County, Yongan fort in Xincheng village and Yongning fort in Xindian Village are collectively referred to as Yongning Second Fort, which are mainly used for defense in wartime. The two fort can form left and right wings, echo each other, and attack the enemy together. Now part of the fort wall in Xindian Village still exists, and the existing East-West castle wall is a historical site of Ming Dynasty. Two gateways, east gate and north gate, are preserved, and the north gate is well preserved.
Yongningbao ancient castle wall site is the only intact Ming Dynasty ancient castle site in Taiyuan city. It is a very precious historical relic and has important historical research value for the study of Ming Dynasty engraving technology.
In 2003, Xindian yongningbao was announced as a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Taiyuan city.
