It was built by master sujue. Prosperous in the Song Dynasty, the eminent monk Jizhong, master Zeng zhuoxi, once became a famous pilgrimage Temple along the southeast coast.
Miaogou temple was destroyed in a big fire in the 14th year of Shunzhi reign of Qing Dynasty. Although it was rebuilt in the 14th year of Kangxi reign, its scale is no longer comparable. Later, when the road was opened up, Miaogou temple was demolished. The cultural relics, master's relic, song gilt bronze Buddha and master's life stele are now in the East China cultural relics museum. Architecture
In 1983, it was restored and rebuilt for more than ten years. Now there are Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Guanyin Pavilion and two buildings, with carved beams and painted buildings, resplendent and magnificent; the eaves and brackets are magnificent. Zhao Puchu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, wrote "Daxiong hall" in person, Sha Menghai, a great calligrapher, wrote "Miaogou Temple", and Nan Huaijin, a Buddhist master, wrote "sujue Mingshan" plaque in 1996, dignified and vigorous All the scholars in the field of calligraphy wrote books, plaques and couplets to add luster to Miaogou temple.
On the main column of the main hall is a couplet written by the former Abbot Xuesheng: "Jingguang pagoda courtyard, pujue bell, reminiscent of the Tang Dynasty zongfeng Yongjia alone; Oupu Yunfeng, xiatan moonlight, want to see the song monk Daoji wonderful fruit together." In the back hall, there is a couplet of Abbot Da Chong: "seven treasures are solemn, one corner of the hill hides the world; three times of shade, ten sides of the earth surge tide."
Abbot
Master Dazhao, the abbot of Miaogou temple, was born in Wencheng County, Zhejiang Province in 1972 and became a monk in Qijia temple in 1989. He belongs to the 46th generation of Tiantai Sect. At present, he is the Postgraduate Tutor of Putuo Mountain Buddhist College, researcher of Suzhou Jiezhuang Buddhist Institute, honorary president of Hunan Changde Buddhist Association, vice president of Wenzhou Buddhist Association, President of Wenzhou Yongjia Buddhist Association, abbot of Miaogou temple, member of the 7th Wencheng County CPPCC Standing Committee, President of Wencheng County Buddhist Association, abbot of Qijia temple and director of Anfu Temple Construction Committee.)
Pig head clock
It is said that during the reign of emperor Shenzong of the Song Dynasty (1078-1085), when master Jizhong presided over Miaogou temple, a monk came to the temple to hang a list to cultivate himself. His appearance was as stupid as a fool, but his words would be in harmony with Zongcheng. During the day, he went to the market to be beggars and gave alms. He learned to buy pig heads and go back to the temple to drink. Master Jizhong looked as if nothing had happened to him and let him go and stay. One day, he dug an earth well at the foot of the mountain beside the temple and hid the remains of the pig's skull in the well. He pressed a big stone and sealed it with mud. He said to people, "I have collected and cast a pig's skull over the years
Zhong, after today's July 7, made achievements here. Since then, there has been no sign of guest monks. More than a month later, the monk dug the earth and saw a bell. It was hot and blazing. It was about three feet high. It was neither bronze nor iron. It was like a bluestone. The sound was bright. On the top of the bell, two pig heads were put together to make a bell button, which was quite different from the usual practice of catching a lion dragon. Old friends are all named "pig head clock". It is said that because the fire did not end before the 49th day of its clock, fires often occurred inside and outside the city when it was struck. In the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), the power of the country was not strong. Local Ren invited a technician to Shanghai to cut off the bell button and steal it abroad. Since then, the sacred bell no longer hung, so the "Ancient Bell Pavilion" was built to hide it. Because the button of the clock looks like two pig heads, it is called "pig head clock". It is also said that the original name of the clock is "Jituo clock", and people call it "pig head clock". We don't have to go to the bottom of the story seriously. "If we pretend to be true, then it's true and false, and if there's nothing to do, it's better to keep it in people's imagination. In 1987, the Bell Pavilion was rebuilt, and the pavilion couplet: "based on historical facts, there is a fairy well on Songtai mountain; there is a folk song left, and the pig head bell in Miaogo temple." The "Jituo bell" in the pavilion is a Song Dynasty object with a height of 1.3 meters and a diameter of 0.8 meters. The pig head clock has been recovered by the Municipal Museum of cultural relics.
