Introduction to the manor
Rose Manor is a production area of St. terstave in the north of Bordeaux. So far, the fifth generation of Francois still live here. The surface of the soil is gravel, the soil is hard, and the soil layer is thick. High quality Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes are planted in the garden, with an average age of 30 years. The quality of Rose Manor is as beautiful as its name. Each fine wine is based on Merlot and has the delicious aftertaste of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Winery history
Since 1989, Rose Manor has become the most stable famous manor in Bordeaux. In recent years, the stable quality of Rose Manor has surpassed that of Ch. cos ` d ` Estournel and the most competitive manor Ch.Calo -Segur, Rose Manor has spared no effort to improve its level. If the classification of that year is modified, it should get the first level manor title in Medoc. Smart consumers can also buy from their sub brand (the second bid after 1990).
In 1815, dumlin, a well-known landowner in the district (also the owner of the famous calon segur wine garden in Kalon West Valley), bought a small hillside a few kilometers south of St. testaf near the river. The hillside has good soil quality, with a lot of heat preservation gravel. The subsoil is iron clay and some limestone. The hillside is covered with purplish red Heather, calendula and thorns. Since 1815, dumlin began to cultivate step by step. Ten years later, the grapes produced in the garden have been able to produce good wine successfully. Dumlin named this new wine "monrtose". The reason for this name was not disclosed. Some people speculate that it is because when you look from the garden to the Gironde River, the whole mountain becomes rose at noon, so it is named "Montrose". In 1824, dumlin sold the Caron sago winery at a price of 600000 francs, expanded the scale of the winery, and achieved a brilliant second-class top performance in the evaluation; while dumlin's old Caron sago winery also achieved good results and entered the third-class top.
After dumlin died in 1861, his descendants had no intention of running the business. In 1866, he sold it to the Dovers family for one million francs. Dovers, the successor of the garden owner, continued to expand the scale of the garden. By 1887, when Dovers died and was auctioned because he had no children to inherit, the garden had almost reached today's situation. The total area is 95 hectares, including 65 hectares of vineyards. The new owner bought the garden for 1.5 million francs. The new owner, the Holstein family, had a lot of money and had already bought linyuancos. In 1896, he sold it to his son-in-law chamoru at the price of 800000 francs. Chamoru himself was born in Chateau figenc, the most famous wine garden in St. Emilion, because his mother was the palm pearl of the owner of the garden, and he also inherited the Kos garden left by his father-in-law. Chamoru was also interested in politics. From 1900 until his death in 1925, chamoru served as the town of St. terstave for 25 consecutive years. Before his death, he sold the garden to the geneste family, but he still kept the garden, whose family is still the only owner of the garden. The soil of 68 hectares of Rose Manor is mixed with sand and stone, and the drainage function is very good. Basically, our garden is like a well-off bourgeoisie. Since Gaoyuan in 1815, everything has been in order, no earth shaking story happened, so it is quite like Bach's music, smooth but elegant. Monroe manor is dark red in color. In the 1960s and 1970s, the garden surpassed Kos for a time. In the 1980s, the owner changed his strategy to make more "harmonious" wine, so that the wine quality became weak and the opposite became self defeating. Since 1986, the vineyard has been recovering the old brewing method of late harvest, using more than half of the new barrels and aging period of about 2 years. Since 1983, La Dame de Montrose, a sub brand wine, has been introduced in the garden. It is of medium price, easy to import and popular with professionals.
High grade dry red
vineyard
The vineyard area of Rose Manor is about 65 hectares. The average age of vines is 35 years. The planting density is 9000 plants / ha, and the average yield is 3200 liters / ha. The soil of the manor is mostly Pyrenees gravel mixed with black sand, rich in iron, and its subsoil is composed of a layer of clay marl, with good drainage function. The planting proportion of grape was 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% small dimension. In the cultivation method, the vineyard adopts the symmetrical pruning method, and the grapes are harvested by hand. Basically, our garden is like a well-off bourgeoisie. Since 1815, everything has been in order, no earth shaking story happened, so it is quite like Bach's music, stable but not losing its characteristics.
Brewing technology
The fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats with controllable temperature. The soaking period is 25 to 30 days. The wine is then aged for about 19 months (depending on the specific characteristics of the wine year), and the wine feet are separated every three months and clarified with protein. Rose Manor (original brand) uses 70% new barrels for 18 months; little Rose (secondary brand) uses 20% new barrels for 12 months.
Tasting Notes
Rose Manor is famous for its dark red color, reserved wine, deep complexity and deep tannins. It will take at least 20 years or more to show its characteristics. Therefore, many drinkers will feel that the wine has a "can not let go" of the gloomy atmosphere. In the 1980s, the owner of the garden changed his strategy to make a more "harmonious" wine, so that the wine quality became weak, but it was self defeating. Since 1986, Zhuangyuan has been recovering its old brewing method of late harvest, using more than half of the new oak barrels, and the mature period is about 2 years. Since 1983, the second grade wine "La Dame de Montrose" has been introduced in our garden. The price is medium, and it is easy to enter. It is also very popular among the experts.
Rose Manor (authentic): like all St. estevelle wines, Rose Manor wines are dark and strong with good structure. Complex fragrance and excellent elegance, can stand the test of time.
