Shangyuan art museum is composed of 21 original art buildings, Liang Sicheng scheme exhibition hall, literature club and art exhibition hall.
Museum overview

Since 2000, a group of poets, writers, artists and architects have been searching, planning, organizing, designing and starting construction at the foot of Yanshan Mountain in the north of Beijing. It took seven years and was completed in 2006. It became the only one in the world:
Focus on the best contemporary artists (Can Xue, Xichuan, sun Wenbo, Zeng Li, time, Huang Yan...) Jointly and independently invest to build an art tribe with its own artistic creation, works display and life;
Focus on the best contemporary architects (Zhang Yonghe, Liu Jiakun, Sudan, Zhou Wei, Meng Jianmin...) Design a very original avant-garde architectural art. They want to promote the artistry and personalization of Chinese architecture.
Complete democratic and autonomous management mode: Art Management Committee, architectural management committee and property management committee are all composed of Shangyuan artists.

Museum conditions

5. They guide and supervise the teaching quality of the education and training center.
Organization
Art Exchange Department
1. All activities of the Department must be carried out under the approval of the Arts Management Committee.
2. Art exhibition activities: the curator (unlimited candidates) shall submit the topic selection and plan.
3. Artists, writers and poets from all over the world are invited to stay in the museum for exchange.

6. An unofficial Art Biennale is held every two years, and the "pure folk art biennale" works and artists are selected.
7. Every year, 5-10 outstanding artists from all over the world and 10 domestic artists every year are invited to come to the museum for creation or academic exchange.
Promotion Department
1. Responsible for organizing external publicity, organizing press conferences, and establishing extensive contacts with journalists, cultural and art groups, and cultural officials from all over the world. 2. The group of writers of "Shangyuan art criticism" is organized to criticize and publicize the works of Shangyuan artists regularly every year.

Features of Art Museum
The pursuit is compatible with native mountain
These buildings refuse superficial fashion and all imitations of archaism, Europe and people, and pursue original architectural works that are compatible with the local landscape. For example, the writer's apartment: in order to realize the design concept that these buildings grow from the local area of Benshan, we will touch the wall from the local area excavated during the foundation excavation, then plant vines around and on the roof, and finally make the whole building wrapped by green plants. Winter is like bamboo shoots, spring, summer and autumn are like huge trees.
Architectural design is integrated with national and contemporary cultural concepts
For example, the design scheme of "Liang Sicheng Memorial Hall" made by Zhang Yonghe for Zeng Li: the design is based on the in-depth consideration of the mountain terrain of Shangyuan Art Museum and the function of the memorial hall, trying to combine the traditional Chinese architectural art form with the function of contemporary architectural collection and display, in order to achieve the new realm of contemporary architecture of "Chinese but new" as Mr. Liang Sicheng said. In the expression of architectural function and form, modest and restrained, the introverted courtyard expresses the yearning and respect for a generation of giants
a) Courtyard: one of the differences between Chinese architecture and other architectural traditions is the understanding of "courtyard before house". This project takes the design institute as a starting point. Vertically, it is divided into four "Entrances": entrance slope, front yard, inner yard and back yard; horizontally, it is divided into four "roads", mainly including entrance slope, contemporary architectural art collection Museum, Liang Chen scheme collection Museum, studio and living room. The courtyard is composed of three main courtyards: outer courtyard, inner courtyard and backyard. The connection between the courtyard and the courtyard is completed by the corridor and the gray space under the eaves.
b) Slope and slope - the sloping roof of the building is not only a form of imitation of traditional architecture, but also a mature idea formed by fully considering the "slope" of the terrain. For local complex terrain and tree location, sloping roofs are best combined with lower terrain (and leave space where there are fruit trees). Not publicity and maximum maintenance and respect for the environment - this is also a tribute to the spirit of Liang Chen case. Similarly, sloping roof on sloping land is also a concept of "flat roof" to some extent.
c) The most important functions, the exhibition of Liang Chen's plan and the collection of contemporary architectural art, are respectively placed in the semi underground of the second road and the first road. The first way: mainly the contemporary architectural art collection, including reception, multimedia, exhibition space, etc.; the second way: the exhibition space of Liang Chen case is organized underground, the ground floor is the reception space (inside and under the eaves), and the second floor is the study and collection. The third way: northward in order to combine the function of the studio, the wall is retreated three meters, so that the northward soft light can be evenly distributed in the studio. The south facing first floor is the main bedroom, and the semi underground is two rooms.
d) Structure and materials - the structure of the scheme adopts frame structure, the exterior wall is enclosed with masonry wall, and the roof is covered with grey tiles. The overall architectural tone is mainly gray, expressing the introverted and solemn architectural temperament
Integrate life experience into it
