Li Zhuchen's former residence is located in Anle Village (pronounced "village") at the intersection of Machang road and Guilin road, Heping District, Tianjin. The former name of Anle estate is "new military officer Hutong", designed by Italian architect Paul Bonatti. There are three buildings in the area, which are arranged in the shape of "pin". The townhouses along Machang road are oriented north and south, with a total of eight doors. In the past, they were called "Heng Ba Suo", and the house number is 102-108. The former residence of Li Zhuchen is No. 102.
This brick and wood structure of the four storey row building, each family has nine houses. The first floor is pingyinzi, which used to be a room for servants. The second floor is dining room and living room, and the third and fourth floors are bedroom and study. Today's "horizontal eight" do their best, there are ordinary residents, but also hotels, shops. There are still some old residents in the two buildings behind Anle estate. An aunt who has lived in Anle estate for more than 30 years laments that in the past few decades, many celebrities have lived in Anle estate, but in recent years, there are not many old residents who move or go abroad, and there are not many stories about old houses that people remember.
On December 29, 1951, Chairman Mao visited Li Zhuchen's house on the racecourse road. This is also the only "home visit" of Mao Zedong in Tianjin. Chairman Mao and Li Zhuchen are both Hunan compatriots and old friends. In 1945, when Chairman Mao took part in the Chongqing negotiations, he had a cordial talk with fan Xudong and Li Zhuchen, both Hunan native, in Guiyuan, Zhang Zhizhong's official residence. This visit is to "be a guest" as an old friend. According to some written records, Chairman Mao had a "long talk all night" with Li Zhuchen on that day, but Li Zhizhi told reporters that this statement was inaccurate. As a matter of fact, Chairman Mao visited the North China urban-rural material exchange exhibition in Tianjin that year and stayed in the second guest house of the municipal Party committee (today's Heping hotel). On that day, the meeting at Li's house was only about 20 minutes.
