Baoding Bridge

Baoding bridge spans the East and west sides of Haihe River in Tianjin. It is designed by Tianjin municipal engineering design and Research Institute and constructed by Tianjin Urban Construction Group No.1 company. At the end of January 2005, the 28 meter wide approach bridge on the East Bank of Baoding bridge was basically completed. On October 14, 2005, with the accurate placement of the last 33 ton steel beam of the tower column, the 50 meter high main tower of Baoding bridge was finally capped, which indicates that the "sail" of Baoding bridge has been basically completed. On March 29, 2006, the installation of stay cables of Baoding bridge was completed, and the main project was announced to be completed; it was opened to traffic on September 25.

Connecting Heping District and Hedong District, it is a bridge with both traffic function and landscape effect. Starting from Jiefang North Road, the bridge crosses Haihe River and the planned Haihe East Road (underground tunnel) in the form of a single tower cable-stayed bridge along Baoding road to Taierzhuang Road on the side of Heping District. Affected by the demolition of the South Railway Station, a temporary guide road is laid on the side of Hedong District to bypass Haihe East Road.

The bridge is a composite structure of steel and concrete. The main span adopts steel box girder structure, and the side span adopts prestressed concrete box girder structure. The main tower of the wind sail shaped bridge is 50 meters high, which is a steel-concrete structure. The total length of the bridge is 231 meters, and the total bridge area is 11600 square meters, including 6778 square meters of bridge area and 4822 square meters of Road area.

Baoding bridge is located on the West Bank of Haihe River, across the sunken tunnel of Taierzhuang Road, landing on Jiefang North Road, connecting Baoding road of Heping District; on the east bank, it passes through the business district of South Station of Hedong District and ends at Liuwei road of Hedong District. The main span of the bridge is 120 meters long and 570 meters long, together with the roads on both sides of the bridge. The most eye-catching part of the bridge is the "sail" shaped main tower at the head of the bridge on the West Bank, which means that Tianjin, an international port metropolis, is riding the wind and waves and becoming increasingly prosperous. The main tower is 50 meters high and tilts 75 degrees to the west, with simple shape. There is no pier in Hanoi, but the deck is pulled up by the pulling force of stay cables. These stay cables are inclined down from the top of the main tower to the center of the bridge deck in the form of sparse cables. Six stay cables are connected to the main span bridge deck with a distance of 15m.

Baoding bridge is equipped with a high-quality lighting system: a "bending" street lamp is set every 20 meters on both sides of the bridge, which is symmetrical on both sides, forming a "ring" shaped lighting effect at night. In addition, a light transmission window is designed on one side of the main tower, and a white light-emitting plate with controllable brightness is installed in the tower. Driving on the bridge at night, the lights and the tall buildings on both sides of the Haihe River complement each other, setting off the beautiful outline of the bridge.
