brief introduction
The ancient city of Wubao was built in the northern Han Dynasty (951-957). It is an ancient stone city with stone walls, stone gates and brick houses. The ancient city is very small, occupying such a hilltop, below is the Yellow River. There is no red and purple, rich and noble, everything is ordinary and even simple. The houses here all have yards, and the walls are made of gravel, which enclose a small yard and separate short and narrow paths. Years have turned some homes into ruins, some houses have been slightly repaired, and there are still people living in them, but almost all of them are old people. Now only they stay in this ancient city. There are two earth temples and some statues in the ancient city. Although they have not been rebuilt for a long time, they are very local, unlike the works of other places. There are many jujube trees planted outside the ancient city, which is the source of income for the people of the ancient city.
The people in the ancient city are very hospitable and honest. When you look into their yard, they will pull you in politely. If it's breakfast time, the old man will come out with porridge. The first sentence he sees you is, "have you eaten yet?" Then I will go into the room and give you a bowl. There are two families living in the ancient city. One is an old man in his 60s, who is a health worker in the city. The other is well-known. The old man is a doctor in the Kuomintang era. His name is Wang Xiangxian. He wrote a book called the ancient city of Wubao. As long as you pass by his house, he will pull you in and give you a book, which costs 15 yuan.
Recalling the ancient city
It is recorded in the eighth volume of Yan'an Fu Zhi by Hongzhi of Ming Dynasty that Wubao water village was built in the first year of Guangshun of Zhou Dynasty (951) and expanded in the fifth year of Yuanfeng of Northern Song Dynasty (1082) According to the inscriptions on the cliffs at the foot of the east gate of Wubao ancient city in 1137, the eighth year of Fuchang of Liu Yu, the puppet Qi Dynasty in the Jin Dynasty: in March of that year, the leader and general of Wubao village, zhe yanruo, was due to "the disadvantages of this City Because of the shabby water village, I hate that I can't build a new one. Today, I lead the villagers and urge them to build a new one. After the renovation, Wubao county was established in 1226, and the ancient city became the ruling city of the county. Since then, the ancient city of Wubao has been repaired many times in 1381, 1536 and 1766. In March of the 25th of the Republic of China (1936), Wubao county government moved from the ancient city to songjiachuan, and the ancient city was gradually abandoned as an administrative village of Chengguan Town (now known as the ancient city village). Thus, in the later "demolition movement", the ancient city was saved from being demolished.

In 1982, the people's Government of Wubao County announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit at the county level.
In 1992, the people's Government of Shaanxi Province announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit at the provincial level.
In 2006, the State Council announced it as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
In recent years, reporters from all over the country have been coming to the ancient city for interviews, and the number of tourists from other places has increased. Due to poor transportation, rugged roads and impassable vehicles, most of the residents moved away. Huo shiwenyang sings in his lyrics: the ancient city of Wubao has become a village, leaving few families. It's not because of the killer, just because of the poor transportation. Such is the case. (there are now 15 people in seven families in the ancient city.) around 1997, several villages mobilized villagers to build a highway, but it was still not repaired due to financial difficulties. In addition, it was washed by rain and mountain torrents for years, making it even more difficult for no one to repair it.
The east wind of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has awakened the sleeping ancient city of Wubao for thousands of years. In protecting and developing the ancient city, we should seek support from all sides on the basis of self-reliance. Unveil the mystery and show it to the world.
Ancient city on foot
Wubao ancient city is on the mountain 4 kilometers north of Wubao county. It is an hour's walk from the county. Most of the roads are built along the Yellow River, overlooking the surging water of the Yellow River. There is a path at the north gate of the ancient city, which can go down to the Yellow River. Along the north part of the Yellow River, the scenery is very beautiful. For a while, there is a cobble beach, for a while, there is a soft beach. If you go on, the road even becomes a 1-foot-wide path chiseled on the cliff of the river. This way, you can go all the way to Jiaxian. The scenery is quiet and beautiful, with mountains on one side and rivers on the other. It's very suitable for lonely travelers. But the journey is hard, more than 100 kilometers, and there are basically no villages on the way, so we need to make all the preparations for camping. Look at the ancient city
Wubao ancient city and Jundu village in Liulin, Shanxi Province will form a large regional tourist attraction.
Starting from songjiachuan, Wubao County, it is about 8 kilometers to the northwest, around Wujia highway, to the place called xuechangping outside the north gate of Wubao ancient city. The school yard was a place where soldiers practiced martial arts in ancient times. Later, jujube trees were planted all over the place. Now the school yard and the surrounding mountains are the jujube forest in the sun. Looking around, the red, green and agate like jujubes are all over the jujube forest. Deep in the jujube forest, cave style farmyards are arranged in an orderly way. A few white birds hover over the jujube forest, making a few delicate sounds to break the quiet jujube forest. Then they fly to the villa deep in the jujube forest, forming a beautiful painting of jujube village. People's feelings are immersed in the warm and peaceful nature of jujube village .
Through the jujube forest, you can reach the northwest wall of Wubao ancient city. The city walls are made of local maroon stones. They are full of fresh moss, which makes the ancient city more ancient. After walking through the north gate and looking up, you can see that the gate of No.3 senior high school is made of large stone. At first glance, it is the gate shape of a typical military castle in Northern Shaanxi in Song Dynasty. The tower on the gate has collapsed, but the ticket hole of the gate is complete and solid. The stone plaque embedded in the gate has been seriously weathered, but the word "Ying en" can be distinguished. Entering the north gate of the ancient city and climbing on the grassy high earth terrace, you can see the ruins of Wubao county government in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient county yamen is a courtyard with two courtyards in the north and the south. In ancient times, Nanyuan used to be the residence of county yamen servants and the prison for male and female prisoners. Now the stone kilns of nannu prison and Dongnan prison are still alive, and the West cave where yamen servants lived is still intact and occupied by local residents. Walking into the north courtyard of the ancient county yamen, the front and back halls of the County Yamen and the six room yamen office were in ruins, with broken walls and walls, bricks and tiles everywhere, and weeds everywhere. However, we can still see the layout and architectural scale of the county yamen office in ancient times. On the ruins, he leaned over to pick up a few tiles and carefully identified them. All of them were made in the Song Dynasty. It can be proved that the destroyed County Yamen was the residence of the general of Wubao village as early as the Song Dynasty. It was only in the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty that fan pingzhong, the magistrate of Wubao village, "continued to build the front and back hall, the hall of history, the gate and the storehouse.". However, the ancient county government building more than 1000 years ago was destroyed by the indiscriminate bombardment of Japanese aircraft and artillery in 1938. On the east side of the ruins of the northern courtyard of the county yamen, there is only a small broken temple, which is called yamen Temple by the local people. Looking for it, this is a typical "pillow coupon" stone kiln temple in Northern Shaanxi during the yuan and Ming Dynasties. There are no statues of gods in it, but the murals on the East and west walls are well preserved. The two murals are scenes of ancient horsemen and their entourage going on a tour. They are exquisitely painted, and the raw materials used for painting are mineral materials such as cinnabar and lead, It still keeps the bright colors. There are two stone tablets in the underground pit of the temple, which are trampled by tourists. It's a pity. It is hoped that the relevant units will protect the two steles as soon as possible.
The ruins of the county government are in the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty
