The green square of Tianhe East Station is located on the axis of Guangzhou new city, covering an area of 47000 square meters. The construction started in the middle of September 1998, and was officially completed and put into use on July 1, 1999. There are 26000 square meters of green space in the center of the square, 18315 square meters of Manila grass, of which 6000 square meters are planted with iconic patterns, and 1300 square meters of Fujian tea hedgerow are planted in the surrounding area.
