It is more than 100 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It was completed in October 1960. In 1968 and 1974-1982, the project was continued and expanded. With a total storage capacity of 121 million cubic meters and a controlled drainage area of 443 square kilometers, it is one of the four large reservoirs in Beijing. There are main dam, South Auxiliary Dam, spillway, power station and two extraordinary spillways. The main dam is a clay inclined wall dam with a maximum height of 40.5M and a crest length of 413m. The reservoir is also known as the golden sea.
Haizi Reservoir
Haizi reservoir is located on the main stream of Ji canal tributary river near Haizi village, 18 kilometers east of Pinggu County, Beijing. It is more than 100 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It was completed in October 1960.
