Liu Shaoqi's former residence is located in tanzichong, Huaming building, Ningxiang City, Hunan Province, China. Liu Shaoqi's former residence is a courtyard house where Liu Shaoqi was born and spent his childhood and adolescence. The former residence has become a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Liu Shaoqi's former residence, located at No.2 shangdeli, Youyi street, Hankou, is the residence of Liu Shaoqi when he was engaged in revolutionary activities in Wuhan.
Introduction of former residence
Located in tanzichong, Huaminglou, Ningxiang City, Hunan Province, China. Liu Shaoqi was born here on November 24, 1898, and spent his childhood and youth here. The former residence is in a courtyard with a thatched gate. It is a civil structure. The mud brick walls are decorated with chaff mud, and the roof is half of small green tiles and half of thatch. There is a clear pond in front of the door and mountains behind the house. After studying in Changsha in 1916, Liu Shaoqi went home to live in winter and summer. In May 1961, when he returned to his hometown for investigation and research, he lived here for a week. During the cultural revolution, the former residence was destroyed. In 1980, the former residence was restored as it is. Hundreds of objects and photos were displayed in the bedrooms, study rooms and Hengtang hall where the survey meeting was held. They were reopened for people to visit.
Liu Shaoqi's former residence is a quadrangle house with a civil structure. There are three patios in the middle of the whole building, covering an area of nearly 800 square meters. There are more than 30 maowa houses with a construction area of more than 300 square meters. There are 21 and a half houses belonging to Liu Shaoqi's family, and the rest belong to uncle Liu Shaoqi's family.
There is a pond in front of the house and a low hill behind it. The whole house is surrounded by a lush forest.
The plaque of "former residence of Comrade Liu Shaoqi" inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping in 1980 is hanging at the front door of his former residence. In the hall, a calendar of the 10th year of Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty and a group photo of Liu Shaoqi and Wang Guangmei in their former residence in May 1961 are displayed. From the main hall to the bedroom of Liu Yunting, Liu Shaoqi's second brother, there are books, beds and chairs. There is also a picture of Liu Shaoqi with Liu Yunting, Liu Yunbin, Liu Aiqin and Liu Yunming. Xianglihang is to Liu Shaoqi's bedroom, where there are books, beds and chairs. When Liu Shaoqi returned to his hometown in May 1961, he used to stay and work here. Out of this bedroom, you can go to the wine room, where the Liu family used to store and sell wine. From the wine room to the East, to Liu Shaoqi's elder brother Liu Moqing's bedroom. Juxtaposed with Liu Moqing's bedroom is Liu Shaoqi's parents' bedroom, with bed, bedside table, desk, board cabinet, dressing table, etc. Liu Shaoqi's father Liu Shousheng died in 1910 and his mother died in 1931. The living room is a horizontal hall with a candlelight cabinet, eight immortals table, benches, etc. Next to the horizontal hall is the bedroom of Liu zuoheng, the third brother of Liu Shaoqi. It is worth mentioning that Liu Shaoqi's former residence has a study, which shows that the Liu family attaches great importance to children's reading. In addition, there are farm tools room, fire house, cattle house, pig house and so on.
Liu Shaoqi's former residence is in tanzichong, Huaminglou Township, Huaminglou District, Southeast of the county. It is 50 kilometers away from Changsha, the provincial capital in the East, 37 kilometers away from Mao Zedong's former residence in Shaoshan City in the South and 30 kilometers away from the county seat in the West.
Tanzichong farm is a four part farmhouse with civil structure, facing the pond in the front and the green hill in the back. There are 21 and a half houses in total, including 16 and a half tile roofed houses (the main hall house and the neighbors are half) and 5 thatched houses, covering a total area of more than 800 square meters and a construction area of more than 300 square meters. From the outside of tanzichong house to the trough gate, through the inside terrace, it is the main hall house. The first bedroom to the right of the main hall is Liu Shaoqi's brother Yunting's bedroom. The second bedroom is Liu Shaoqi's teenage bedroom. This room is the bedroom of Liu Shaoqi's parents. From this room, you can go to Hengtang house, followed by the fire room, kitchen, pestle room, pigsty house, cowshed house and other miscellaneous houses.
In 1959, the people's Committee of Hunan Province announced that Liu Shaoqi's former residence in tanzichong was a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level, and issued a wooden gold plaque with a red background hanging on the lintel of the gate. In the same year, tanzichong's former residence was opened to the public.
In 1961, the public canteen was dissolved, and the members' houses were crowded. Liu Shaoqi decided to give all the old houses, tables, stools, pots, stoves and warehouses to the members. At the beginning of the "Cultural Revolution", tanzichong house was destroyed and cultural relics were lost. It was closed on October 1, 1966.
In February 1980, the Fifth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China completely vindicated Liu Shaoqi's unjust case. The Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Ningxiang County Committee of the Communist Party of China immediately repaired their former residence and collected the lost cultural relics. The local people made contributions. On March 5 of the same year, the former residence was opened to the public. In the winter of 1982, Deng Xiaoping, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, inscribed a plaque: "former residence of Comrade Liu Shaoqi.".
In January 1988, the State Council announced the former residence of Liu Shaoqi in tanzichong as a key cultural relic protection unit in China. From 1959 to 1990, the former residence was renovated four times.
In December 1998, the 100th anniversary of Liu Shaoqi's birth was solemnly held here.

It is located at 2 shangdeli, Youyi street, Hankou. It was the house of Liu Shaoqi when he was engaged in revolutionary activities in Wuhan. Some leading comrades of the all China Federation of trade unions and Hubei Federation of trade unions also lived here. The former residence is a 20's Lane style two-story house. Facing north and south, the building area is about 120 square meters, with brick and wood structure. The gate is a stone frame door with patio and living room; there are two rooms on the left and right, each of 20 square meters. The layout of the rooms upstairs is the same as that downstairs. Liu Shaoqi lives in an upstairs room on the right side of the gate, where he leads the workers' movement as Secretary General of the all China Federation of trade unions and Hubei Federation of trade unions.
