Separated by a valley, there is a huge rock, perched on the top of the peaks, like a frog to jump into the sky, hence the name. It is one of the ten natural scenic spots in Chengde. Toad stone, about 20 meters long, more than 40 meters high. The legend of toad stone

In the east of fengmenggang of huangyangjian mountain, there is a rock, more than two meters high, which is called "toad stone". Legend has it that this is a toad. Because it is insatiable, it is turned into a stone by Tieguai Li, one of the eight immortals.

It is said that huangyangjian mountain is closest to the South Gate of heaven. Whenever the heaven banquets all kinds of immortals, "Eight Immortals" gather at huangyangjian first, waiting for the imperial edict issued by the Jade Emperor. Tie Guai Li comes first every time. Once, when he was walking in paomagang, Tieguai Li accidentally stabbed a toad. Tieguai li felt very sorry. He immediately picked up the toad with both hands and stroked it to express his apology, and sprinkled the wine in the gourd on the toad's wound to prevent ulceration. But when the toad turned around, he opened his mouth and ate the wine into his stomach, and made a "squeak" sound, which seemed too little. So tieguaili sprinkled a few drops of wine into the toad's mouth, and the toad ate with relish. Tieguai Li put it on the ground very carefully. The toad landed and left alive. Tie Guai li felt relieved. After a while, all the eight immortals arrived, and then he was called to heaven.

What's more, after drinking tie Guai Li's wine, Toad's appearance changed greatly, his body grew hundreds of times, and his voice and character became rough. The other toads were very surprised when they saw him, so he said with a high air: "I've eaten Tieguai Li's Fairy wine, have you ever drunk it?" The toads were awed and called it "King". When he became the king of toad, he became more complacent and did whatever he wanted. Finally, he decided to ask tie Guai Li to help him become an immortal.

Tieguai Li was very angry when he learned that the toad who had eaten his fairy wine was king and tyrannical. So he made a special trip to huangyangjianshan. Toad king saw tie Guai Li as if he had found a savior. He said that Da Xian was kneeling on the ground and kowtowed: "Da Xian, I'm the frog you saved. I'd like to see Da Xian today. I'd like to ask Da Xian to help me again and take me to heaven to be an immortal!" Tieguaili thought the toad was too hateful and ridiculous, but he still said "follow me" to the king with a smile, and then he stepped up the mountain with a lunge. Toad king made every effort to jump, and it took almost half an hour to get to the top of the mountain. Tieguai Li asked him, "are you tired?" Toad out of breath to answer: "very tired." Tie Guai Li said, "you've been climbing for half an hour, and you're very tired. Look how high the sky is. Can you go up?" The toad kowtowed to Tieguai Li and cried out: "Da Xian, you have the ability to communicate with heaven. As long as Da Xian is willing to help, I have hope." Tieguai Li decided to enlighten toad and said, "you look up and I'll show you a way." Toad was waiting with a happy smile. At this time, Tieguai Li held up the gourd and spilled the wine on toad. The toad lost consciousness and became what it is now.

After the king toad was turned into a stone by Tieguai Li, the toads didn't know how happy they were. Thanks to Tieguai Li for doing great harm to the toads. Later, people made up a folk song for the king of toad, saying: Heaven is not high, ambition is high; toad said that the king is not satisfied, but also want to see the Jade Emperor; tie Guai Li punished him, and the king of toad became a toad stone.
