At an altitude of 965 meters, the Great Wall winds through the top of the mountain. It is about 50 kilometers away from Beidaihe. The whole scenic spot is composed of Longtan, green corridor, beiniuding and other scenic spots. It is famous for its beautiful scenery and dangerous situation. Back cattle top for the solitary peak, steep walls on all sides, high into the clouds, quiet as fairyland. There are 29 stone steles on the peak, most of which are famous poems, as well as Wanghai tower, Guandi temple, Wuliang hall, Jinguang cave and other places of interest.

Looking up from the foot of the mountain, the top of the mountain rises into the clouds. Because there are stones like cattle behind the mountain, it is named. Beiniuding was built as early as the reign of emperor Tianqing of Liao Dynasty (1111-1120 A.D.). In 1519 A.D., monks dug a well to build a temple, and gradually became a Buddhist resort. In the Qing Dynasty, Taoism became more and more popular. One mountain has two families, Buddhism and Taoism.

Climb up the stone steps from the foot of the mountain. In the embrace of the mountains, there is a dragon pool, a pool of water, the depth of several feet, cold air overflowing, refreshing. On both sides of the pool are cliffs, shaped like an axe. There are two powerful "general stones" in the trees along the mountain road, like loyal guards guarding the mountain gate. Further on, you will arrive at the deep green corridor.

From the green corridor up, through a difficult climb, then to the pass, from here to look at the mountain gate, steep wall, very dangerous. Originally, a five story cypress ladder was set up along the cliff. The iron rope hung high beside the ladder, and the tourists pulled the rope to climb up. Today, a 70 meter long iron ladder is set up with a fence outside. Although the cliffs stand on both sides, it is frightening, but there is no danger.

When we arrived at the gate of the mountain, we were shocked. Looking around, we began to realize that the scenery here was unique. We realized that it was worthwhile to come here. It was as if we were going to become an immortal. In case of overcast rain, you can see the clouds under your feet, such as rolling snow, such as wadding, sunny rain, known as "niuding cloud sea", which is no less powerful than Huangshan cloud sea. On the inner wall of the south side of the mountain gate is a horizontal stele with three small characters of "taiqingguan" on it and three big characters of "beiniuding" on the bottom.

Main attractions

Longtan

Close to the roadside of youbeiniuding. The walls of the pool are cut like axes. In summer, the waterfall falls down from the gorge, majestic, such as the roar of a tiger and the sound of a dragon. The depth of the pool is more than 10 meters, and the water quality is clear and cold. There are two regular script characters "Longquan" engraved on the cliff in the east of the lake. On the side of the cliff stand two stone tablets of the Qing Dynasty. A new Rainbow Bridge on Longtan leads to the "Wangyu Pavilion". There is a stone "Dragon King Temple" in the north of the road, which was rebuilt in 1985.

Baofeng temple, Qinghe Pagoda Temple

It's 2 kilometers east of Longtan. The structure of the two temples is the same. They are a three room four room hall without beams, with a top, stone walls and no rafters. Qinghe Pagoda Temple is on the left, and Baofeng temple is on the right. The stele on the outside wall of Qinghe Pagoda Temple is recorded as "built in 1321, the first year of Yuanzhi period, rebuilt in 1508, the third year of Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty", and rebuilt in 1501, the fourteenth year of Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty. ". The inner walls of the two temples are inlaid with 27 steles about 50 cm wide and 80 cm high. The stele is engraved with Buddha statues such as Buddha, Bodhisattva, King Kong and so on, with smooth lines and sharp blade. It is a rare stone carving of Ming Dynasty. Baofeng temple in front of the two cliffs such as the door, called the "Mountain Gate.". Around the "Mountain Gate", there are cliffs of Buddha statues of different sizes. The two temples are about 1.5 km apart.

green corridor

Climbing up the stone steps from the foot of beiniuding mountain, the mountain becomes steeper and the scenery is quiet. It is covered with forest all the year round, with exotic flowers and ancient trees. In the embrace of the mountains, and further forward, you will arrive at the deep green corridor. There are natural kiwifruit vines and wild grapes extending from the roadside to the sky. They are linked together to form a green corridor with thick shade to block out the sun. They capture the beauty of man-made and have the beauty of nature and unique charm.

A few more miles past Longtan, through the green corridor covered by wild monkey peach and wild grapevine, you can look up at the top of the back cattle. The mountain road here is steep. In the past, there were five long cypress ladders along the cliff, and there were two iron chain roads beside them. Visitors need to pull the rope to climb the ladder and the ape leads them up. In the 1980s, a strong iron ladder was set up, which was more than 70 meters long. Climbing along the ladder, you can safely reach the top. If you meet Yin Cun, you can see the clouds under your feet, such as rolling snow, heaping catkins, and the rain on your eyes. This scene is called Doumian world or niuding sea of clouds. On the inner wall of the south side of the mountain gate is a horizontal stele with three small characters of "taiqingguan" on it and three big characters of "beiniuding" on the bottom. Near the mountain gate, there is a stone cliff engraved with the words "I will not recite the Buddha in this life, I will walk in the world in vain", which gives people a sense of transcendence.

In the woods behind the rocks, there is a forest of Steles, mostly for those who donated to build temples. On the east side, several wells are staggered, most of which are made of stone. The water is less than 1 meter shallow, and the water is more than 3 meters deep. Fortunately, no matter how deep it is, it does not dry up all the year round even though it is on the top of the mountain. There is a square pool under the stone wall in the east of the well, which was called the release pool in ancient times. In front of the pool, there is a "Wanghai tower" site. The tower goes and the platform depends on it. There are several ancient pines more than 500 years old, with luxuriant branches and leaves. The Wuliang hall, the only building on the top of the mountain, still worships Wanghai Guanyin. There is a stone carving beside the golden light cave in the north of the hall. The four big characters "sea and sky" in regular script are vigorous and powerful. The cliff in the east of the cave is carved with Buddha statues and poems left by tourists. The platform in front of the cave is just a good place for visitors to have a picnic.

Beautiful legend

It is said that a long time ago, there lived a family at the foot of a mountain. The old couple spent their whole lives eating fast and chanting Buddhism, and had a baby daughter. The girl is very handsome. One to two, her beauty startled eighteen Xiangma, the first Xiangma wanted to rob her to be the wife of the village.

One afternoon, the old master was dozing on the Kang when he heard someone outside the window say to him, "old master, old master, disaster is coming, disaster is coming." The old boss got up and went out to have a look. The yard was empty and there was no one. Under the window, there was only a newborn calf, looking at him eagerly. The old boss came back to the house and heard the voice again. When he went to see it again, there was still no one. Several times in a row, the old boss felt strange and asked the calf tentatively, "calf, calf, are you talking to me?" The calf nodded to him. The old boss asked the calf: "what's the trouble?" the calf really vomited: "on the third watch tonight, Xiangma wants to rob the young lady to be the wife of the village." The old master was surprised and afraid, so he knelt down and kowtowed to the calf: Xianniu, Xianniu, merciful Bodhisattva, please help my daughter. The calf said, "don't be afraid, don't panic. As long as you do this and this tonight, you can avoid the disaster.". In the evening, the old head of the family prepared as the calf said. The front door was decorated with lights, and the second door was decorated with colors. After that, she hid her daughter in the vegetable cellar and dressed the calf in new clothes. When everything was ready, the old master took the lantern to the intersection to meet the Xiangma. At three o'clock, eighteen ring horses really came. When they saw that the old man in charge of the family was smiling, welcoming and entertaining, they felt very strange, "how do you know that we are going to get married at three o'clock this evening? Can't you count it? " The old head of the family said in a leisurely manner: "where can I count? My calf told me." Xiangma felt more strange and asked, "where is your calf? Pull it out and let's have a look. " The old boss said: "the calf has gone to the top of the mountain opposite. It says that you can go there to find it, and it will produce good results." The horses seemed to believe or not, but they were hungry and thirsty all the way, and they couldn't take care of a lot of them, so they ate a lot and drank a lot, and got drunk one by one.
