characteristic
Qiuxi spring is an irregular shaped spring pool about 7 meters long and 7 meters wide. It has a natural stone revetment with a water surface of more than 20 square meters and a water depth of about 1.5 meters
Rice. There is a spring hole on a natural stone in the middle of the pool, which is as thick as a bowl. The spring water gushes out from the spring hole, 10 cm above the water surface, splashing with snow-white spray. Then, along the stone stream, through the dense bamboo forest in the east of the pool, it flows into the West moat not far away.
Around 1964, the hydrogeological department made a spring water detection test here, and the drilling machine suddenly gushed spring water into the underground borehole. The water potential was magnificent, so it was decided to keep this place as a spring. Because of its gushing water, like the ancient legend of the head with two horns of Qiu long pan Qu spit water, so this eye spring named Qiu Xi spring. In the middle and late 1960s, Yueya spring, one of the famous springs in Ming and Qing Dynasties, was located in the east of the South Head Road of dongliushui Street (now in Wulongtan Park). It was surrounded by Taihu Lake stone bank, with mushroom dolomite and artificial fountain in the center. It was the most popular spring scene of that year. People take a leisurely walk here, while those who are good at water gather here to swim. The lively scene has lasted for many years. "Crescent spring" is abundant in water, and overflows when the water is full. It flows to the moat along a stone piled Creek in Taihu Lake. In that year, on the northeast side of "crescent spring", drilling workers drilled three wells here. In a short time, the spring water burst out from the well. The water column was strong and had to be blocked with wooden piles. Then another column of water flowed out along the cracks of wooden piles until the spring dried up.
After the park was opened in Wulongtan in 1987, "crescent spring" has a beautiful scenery of "Qiuxi spring". According to the staff of Wulongtan Park, Qiu is a kind of dragon in legend. In order to cater to the "dragon" of Wulongtan, the spring is named "Qiu", which means "enter the gate (the South Gate of Wulongtan Park), see the little dragon (Qiuxi spring) first, and then watch the big dragon (Wulongtan)". Although the name of "Qiuxi spring" is not classic, it is exquisite and unique with the careful construction of the park management and protection personnel. Its mountains and rocks are emerald, and the clear spring is bubbling. Its style is unique.
In April 2004, it was listed as the new 72 springs in Jinan.
