Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall

Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is built to commemorate the leader Mao Zedong. It is located in Tiananmen Square, south of the monument to the people's heroes. On November 24, 1976, according to the resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the foundation laying ceremony of Chairman Mao's memorial hall was held in Tiananmen Square. Chairman Hua Guofeng delivered a speech at the ceremony.

It was completed on May 24, 1977, covering an area of more than 57000 square meters, with a total construction area of 28000 square meters. The main body is square, and there are 44 bright pillars of Fujian yellow granite building outside. There are Guangzhou Shiwan decorative ceramic plates between the pillars, and the whole body is covered with Qingdao granite. The roof has two glass cornices with sunflower reliefs. There are two platforms on the base. The platform is made of jujube red granite beside Dadu River in Sichuan Province, surrounded by balustrades decorated with Fangshan white jade and evergreen flowers.

The main body is square, and there are 44 bright pillars made of Fujian yellow granite outside. Between the pillars are decorated with Foshan Shiwan ceramic plate and covered with Qingdao granite. The roof has two glass cornices with sunflower reliefs. There are two platforms on the base. Overview of the Memorial Hall

The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located in Tiananmen Square, south of the monument to the people's heroes. It covers an area of 5.72 hectares, with a total construction area of 33867 square meters. It was first built in November 1976 and opened to the public on September 9, 1977. The main building is a colonnade type cube, with a white marble plaque engraved with six gold characters of "Chairman Mao Memorial Hall" on the north and south sides, and 44 square granite pillars encircling the veranda. It is majestic, upright, solemn, and has a unique national style.

Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is the memorial hall of the first generation of revolutionary leaders of the party with Comrade Mao Zedong as the core. It is a national patriotic education demonstration base. On the first floor of the hall are the North Hall, the admiration hall and the South Hall. On the second floor, there are Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun revolutionary achievement Memorial rooms and movie halls.

These halls are important places for people to hold commemorative activities, to visit and learn leaders' thoughts and achievements, and to feel their life style and personality charm. Over the past 30 years, the Party Central Committee has solemnly held commemorative activities here on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of Chairman Mao's memorial hall and the 90th, 100th, 110th and 120th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth. The open hall on the first floor of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall:

The North Hall is a place to visit the entrance and hold a memorial ceremony. In the middle of the hall is a white jade statue of Mao Zedong, which shows the leader's kind and lifelike image. The background is a magnificent and magnificent velvet embroidery mural "the land of the motherland", which shows the magnificent rivers and mountains of the great motherland.

In the middle of the hall is the place to look at Mao Zedong's remains. Mao Zedong, dressed in a gray Chinese tunic and covered with the flag of the Communist Party of China, lies in a crystal coffin. Around the black granite base of Mount Tai, the crystal coffin is inlaid with Party emblem, national emblem, military emblem and the year of Mao Zedong's birth and death.

The South Hall is the exit hall for visitors. On the north side of the white marble wall is engraved with the gilded handwriting of Mao Zedong's poem "Manjianghong · and Comrade Guo Moruo", which expresses the firm determination and heroic spirit of the Chinese people to carry out the socialist revolution and construction. The revolutionary achievement Memorial Hall of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun is a place to show the great revolutionary course of these six leaders and to learn and remember their great achievements. In the six memorials, the white marble statues of the six leaders were placed in the center of the six memorials. Through a large number of full and accurate photos, documents and objects, the exhibition of the memorial shows the historical picture of the revolution and construction of the people of all ethnic groups led by the Communist Party of China, and reflects the brilliant achievements of the six leaders in each period of Chinese revolution and construction.

The documentary "nostalgia" screened in the film Hall shows the great course of Chinese revolution and construction led by the revolutionary leaders with vivid and precious historical pictures, and reproduces the sound and smile of the six leaders and the glorious image of them breathing together with the people and sharing a common destiny.

1、 Opening hours

8:00-12:00 from Tuesday to Sunday (except national legal holidays and Tiananmen Square activities, please pay attention to the change of viewing time at any time).

The opening hours are 8:00-11:30 and 14:00-16:00 on September 9 (the anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's death) and December 26 (the anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's birthday).

2、 Precautions

1. Visitors must queue up for admission free with valid certificates.

2. Consciously accept safety inspection. It is strictly forbidden to bring guns and ammunition, controlled knives, inflammables and explosives and other dangerous goods into the site.

Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall is 260 meters long from north to South and 220 meters wide from east to west. It covers an area of about 57200 square meters and a building area of 33867 square meters. The main building of the memorial hall is 105.5 meters in length and width, and 33.6 meters in height. The main body is square, and there are 44 bright pillars of Fujian yellow granite building outside.
