Hantengri Temple
Hantengri mosque is located in the South Gate of Urumqi. Because the temple is located in the south gate, it is named the South Gate mosque. It was rebuilt in 1902. Before 1987, it was expanded on the basis of the original Nanguan mosque, and now it is called "hantengri" (meaning king of Kings). It is one of the larger Uighur mosques in the city.
Architecture
The reconstructed mosque, located in the south gate and facing the street, is magnificent in appearance and beautiful in appearance. It has four tall minarets surrounded by a large dome in the middle and two small domes on both sides. It has a strong and elegant Islamic architectural style.
