Bian lalakang
Bian lalakang has a history of about 80 years. It was built in 1922 by the Gelug school. At that time, one of the three major temples in Lhasa, the sera temple, was built to chant sutras and eliminate disasters for the herdsmen in the area, so as to obtain benefits.
Bianlalakang is located in jiarao village, Cishi Township, Coqin County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet, about 119 kilometers east of the county. The Lacan was built in 1805 by sonan Luobu. He invited many technicians from Chubu temple in Lhasa to draw exquisite murals and create exquisite Buddha sculptures for Lacan.
There are gold-plated Buddha statues, thousand handed Avalokitesvara and clay statues of three Buddhas (future Buddha, present Buddha and past Buddha) in the kalakan.
Bianlalakang is divided into upper and lower floors. In the south, there is a small hall, which mainly worships six handed Buddha and White Tara. In the west, there are many Buddha statues. In the north, there is a legend of King Gesar.
The murals in lacanili include: a large Buddha of wuliangguang, 108 Buddha of wuliangshou, eight Buddha of pharmacist, master zongkaba and his two disciples Jia Caojie and Ke Zhujie.
It is said that there was a big Pagoda in bianlalakang, but it was destroyed during the cultural revolution and many scriptures were burned.
Later, in 1987, the luozhui Lama of youmendong temple was rebuilt. Since then, the monks of Mendong temple have taken turns to take care of the temple.
