Shamonghai College of calligraphy

Shamonghai calligraphy college was established in 1992. Sha Menghai is a famous calligrapher in China and a native of tangxisha village in Yin county. My hometown is more than ten kilometers away from Dongqian Lake. He left a lot of works in his life, a considerable part of which was preserved in the Academy of calligraphy. On the hillside on the right side of the Academy of calligraphy, there is the tomb of Sha Menghai, which has a unique design. Every year, the calligraphy college also conducts many activities in the calligraphy field to contribute to the popularization and development of calligraphy.

College location

On the Bank of Dongqian Lake, where the scenery is pleasant and beautiful, a three story building with blue bricks and green tiles and ethnic characteristics is hidden in the scenery of the lake and the mountains. Together with the surrounding buildings, it has an ancient flavor and a sense of book. The granite courtyard of "shamonghai calligraphy College" stands at the main entrance of the building. There are mountains, water and green trees in the courtyard, especially weeping willow, which is called Wanliu garden.

On October 10, 1992, Sha Menghai died in Hangzhou. According to his will, his cemetery, the inkstone mirror terrace, was buried on a hillside of more than 10000 square meters to the west of the Academy of calligraphy. The tomb Road, "Mohan Pavilion", stone books, huge black granite inkstone, stone screen wind wall and so on are like tombs but not tombs, full of artistic atmosphere.

The second phase of the library college project (including exhibition hall, multi-function hall, affiliated exhibition room, conference room, etc.) is located behind the main building. It once again displays a batch of works and collections of more than 660 works of Sha Menghai.

On the Bank of Dongqian Lake in Ningbo, there is a three story building with blue bricks and blue tiles and national characteristics, which is set off between the lakes and mountains, emitting bursts of intoxicating fragrance of calligraphy. This is the Sha Menghai calligraphy college specially built to commemorate Mr. Sha Menghai, a famous contemporary Chinese scholar, art master and calligraphy leader.

Sha Menghai, formerly known as Wenruo, was born on June 11, 1900 in Tangxi Township, Yinxian County, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Although Sha Menghai's father studied traditional Chinese medicine, he liked calligraphy, painting and seal cutting. Influenced by the art of calligraphy and painting, Sha Menghai has studied calligraphy, poetry and painting since his youth. In his 20s, his calligraphy had a great reputation in Xieji county. In Town God's Temple, Ningbo, people often take the name of Sha Meng hai to sell horizontal bars. In order to improve the art of calligraphy, Sha Menghai went to Shanghai in the 1920s to study under Feng junmu, the president of xiuneng society, and worked as a teacher in xiuneng society and the Chinese correspondence society of the commercial press. During his study and work, Sha Menghai met many literati, scholars and masters, such as Wu Changshuo, Zhang Taiyan and Zhu Jiangfeng. With the help of the public, Sha Menghai's literary accomplishment and calligraphy art have developed together. After that, Sha Menghai traveled to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing and Hangzhou, teaching as a teacher or visiting friends to discuss art. His extensive experience greatly enriched his calligraphy thought and creation. By the early 1950s, Sha Menghai's calligraphy school had reached perfection. In his later years, he developed into a broad and profound realm. Mr. Sha Menghai has accumulated the skill of daily hard training. He has profound attainments in calligraphy, gold and stone. His calligraphy and seal cutting works are numerous, and he is the leader in the field of calligraphy. In the 1950s, he wrote the plaque of "Da Xiong Bao Dian" in Lingyin Temple and the six foot square "long" character when he was 87 years old. Both of them are the representatives of his big characters, which are praised as the best in the calligraphy field.

Mr. Sha Menghai has successively served as a professor of Zhejiang University, a member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Administration Association, vice chairman of Chinese Calligraphy Association, chairman of Zhejiang Calligrapher Association, honorary curator of Zhejiang Museum, honorary president of Zhejiang Archaeology Society, President of Xiling Seal society, and lifelong professor of Zhejiang Academy of fine arts. Mr. Sha Menghai's life is a life of painstaking pursuit. At the same time, he devoted himself to academic research, published many works on literature research, calligraphy theory, cultural relics and archaeology, and taught his calligraphy, gold and stone art to later generations. It was he who cultivated the first generation of Chinese calligraphy undergraduates and postgraduates, and many foreign students were also attracted by him. He also devoted himself to Zhan's calligraphy attainments. The three parts of "far-reaching cultural influence" reflect the family background of Sha family, the inheritance of calligraphy, the development process of calligraphy art, the influence of calligraphy character at home and abroad, and the relationship with his hometown Yinxian from different angles, and show the life track of Sha Lao's pursuit of Chinese traditional feudalism and love for his country and hometown in the past century. "Mo Bao" exhibition room displays some representative works of more than 90 works donated by Sha Lao to his hometown. One of them is huge. Works such as the word "dragon", "a hundred years to cultivate people", travel notes of Chaoxian County, stele extension, and "strong wind to the East China Sea" have left a deep impression on people, inspiring people's national self-confidence and love for China's excellent history and culture. From these works, which have different styles and reflect the features of different periods, we can appreciate Sha Laoyu's vigorous calligraphy style. His calligraphy style is characterized by dragon dancing and Phoenix dancing between the lines. He is elegant and elegant. He can see the Dharma in the process of traveling, and can communicate with the spirit by focusing on the simplicity, showing the calligraphy style of a generation of masters. At present, the academy has collected more than 700 works, collections and documents donated by Sha Lao in two batches, which is a rich spiritual heritage.

The exhibition hall with an area of nearly 300 square meters and the multi-function hall with a capacity of more than 200 people are located behind the main building, providing an excellent place for people who come to the college for academic research and exchange of works.

On the hillside to the west of the Academy of calligraphy is a "inkstone platform" in the cemetery of Mr. Sha Menghai. On the hillside of more than 10000 square meters, there are "Mohan Pavilion" and 2-meter-square white stone books, huge black granite inkstones, ink pools and stone screen walls, all of which are like tombs but not tombs. Sha Lao and his brothers Sha Wenqiu and Sha Wenhan rest in this tomb full of artistic atmosphere.

At present, as the third batch of provincial patriotism education bases, the College of calligraphy is giving full play to its role in carrying forward the excellent national culture and carrying out a wide range of cultural exchanges at home and abroad. In recent years, it has received more than 100000 visitors from home and abroad, and constantly adopts the method of going out and inviting in to carry out calligraphy exchange and academic research. He has held "Sha Menghai calligraphy exhibition" in Beijing and Taipei successively, invited scholars from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, France and other places to discuss writing skills, and held calligraphy creation and training courses for new talents and young people in the Academy. Nowadays, calligraphy college has become an influential calligraphy Resort and a window of foreign cultural exchange in our province and even in the whole country.

"The fragrance of calligraphy condenses dry in autumn, and the willow shade cultivates Wangan green." Art is eternal. The spiritual wealth left by Mr. Sha Menghai with his lifelong pursuit is extremely precious. I hope that the College of calligraphy will be like a bunch of blooming art flowers forever.
