Luchongguan Forest Park
Luchongguan Forest Park, founded in 2003, is located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. The park is located in Qianling mountains in the north of Guiyang City, 2.5km away from the central urban area and 5km away from guanshanhu District, with convenient transportation. This is the largest park in Guiyang city.
Development history
Luchongguan Forest Park was originally Luchongguan work area of Shunhai forest farm in Guiyang City, which was established in 2001 with the approval of provincial forestry department. The park is located in Qianling mountains in the north of Guiyang City, 2.5km away from the central urban area and 5km away from guanshanhu District, with convenient transportation. It is a part of the first ring forest belt in Guiyang city and the main ecological barrier in the north of the city. In 2003, Luchongguan Forest Park in Guiyang was initially built.

The main vegetation community types in Luchongguan Forest Park are Pinus massoniana, Liquidambar formosana, Camellia oleifera, YINGSHANHONG and xiaoguonanzhu; Pinus armandii, yanfuzi, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Koelreuteria Koelreuteria, etc.; Pinus thunbergii, Rosa xiaoguonanzhu are dominant; Pinus thunbergii, Pinus koraiensis, Rosa koraiensis, etc. are dominant; Pinus thunbergii, Rosa xiaoguonanzhu are dominant Golden plum, Pyracantha fortunei, etc.
Main attractions
Luchongguan Forest Park integrates leisure, fitness, convalescence and popular science. It is planned to have nine functional areas, including sports fitness recreation area, forest popular science sightseeing area, ecological agriculture leisure area, forest convalescence rehabilitation area, flower viewing area, bonsai art exhibition area, orchard area, forest sunshine camping area and management area. The main garden road and footpath of the park have been built.
A tour of lotus
Located in the west gate area of the park, it is composed of "surge gold Ao", lotus Pavilion, Xiaoguan bridge, Xiaoguan lake and other scenic spots. In the early Qing Dynasty, there were eight scenic spots in Guiyang, that is, the eight scenic spots in Guiyang in the Qing Dynasty. Jin'ao mountain is to the north of ya'guan, where thousands of mountains overlap, like waves rolling, a peak gushing out of the middle, like a turtle leaping out of the water, flying towards the sky, magnificent. At the West foot of the mountain, there is an ancient post road leading to Zunyi in northern Guizhou.
Lianhua Cave
From the lake view corridor in the park, about 150 meters down the stone steps, there is a natural karst cave facing Xiaoguan lake. The cave is about 3 meters high and the cave hall covers an area of about 40 square meters. It is said that in those days, the Bodhisattva Guanyin passed by this place to enjoy the scenery, so he meditated in this cave to save all living beings. When he left, he left the lotus seat in this cave, and the lotus cave got its name.
Earth mother cave
Located in Wenlan mountain, from the west gate of the park, along the main garden road up about 200 meters, to the east along the steps down more than 100 meters can reach. The Dimu cave is a natural karst cave. The shape of the entrance is sharp at the top and wide at the bottom, nearly triangular. The cave is 30 meters deep and 20 meters wide. The top is covered with stalactites. There are two one meter high platforms on the left and right sides of the rock. On the left side of the platform, there is a manual chiseled ladder, and there is a small concave hole in it. The terrain in the concave hole is open and can be used to place objects. During the Anti Japanese War, Wenlan pavilion's Siku Quanshu was hidden here.
Five tigers, rising sun
Guiyang is surrounded by mountains. There is a saying of "five tigers, three lions and one phoenix". The "five tigers" in Guiyang are said to be the five peaks of Luchongguan. Among them, the five tigers peak is the highest peak in the urban area of Guiyang, with an altitude of 1441.2 meters. The five peaks are tiger like in shape, facing east from the west, guarding the construction of the city. Let the folk have the auspicious legend of "five tigers protect and build the city, wish you well-being".
Plant Science Park
Located in Guizhou Botanical Garden in the park, there are arboretum, plant exhibition area, medicinal plant area, aquatic plant area, rare and endangered plant area, etc. there are 18 kinds of rare plants for visitors to watch in the park, such as Alsophila spinulosa, Taxus chinensis, Davidia involucrata, Manglietia Manglietia, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Cycas guizhouensis, Taiwania flousiana, tourniquet wood, Yunnan parthenocarpy magnolia, etc. There are 19 kinds of flowers, among which there are several kinds of orchids, such as tiger head orchid, shrimp back orchid, Paphiopedilum with leaves, Paphiopedilum with hard leaves, long petal orchid and Dendrobium. The family of Rhododendron includes Rhododendron dewdrop, Rhododendron Lilium, Rhododendron shuihong, Rhododendron Baihua, Rhododendron Maying, etc. There are more than 2000 species of ferns, gymnosperms and angiosperms belonging to 844 genera of 190 families, of which 56 species are rare and endangered.
The former site of the monastery of guantian main hall in luchong
Luchong guantian main hall monastery is in the botanical garden of Guizhou Province in the park.
In 1854, the French missionary Tong Wenwen bought land in Liuchongguan and built a convent. The house of the convent was composed of several large bungalows, and a small Sutra hall, called "the Virgin Mary ascends to heaven", was shared by the convent and believers. It was completed in early September of 1856. The Virgin Mary ascended to heaven in December 1863 and was burned by the rebels. The seventh year of tongzhi (1868) was rebuilt beside the convent, and the Virgin Mary was still named to heaven for believers. In 1873, Li Wanmei, a French missionary, built the "my happy fate of Notre Dame hall" in a big mountain behind Liuchongguan, which was destroyed in the cultural revolution. There is a church, three bungalows and a garden.
Tourism information
There are five gates in Luchongguan forest park. The middle gate is near the College of science and technology of Guizhou University. Citizens can get off at Tianyu city by bus No.15 and Zhonghua Road Ferry Bus, and enter the park from the west gate. Self driving passengers can park in the parking lot in front of or below the west gate, and 130 vehicles can be put in two parking spots.
