Zhengda Guangming Hall
Zhengda Guangming hall, its name can be said to be close to the open, dignified. This part of the building is completely copied from the hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City. This is not only a place for the court to listen to the government, but also a place for major celebrations. Every year, Wanshou Banquet (emperor's birthday) and Qianqiu Banquet (Queen's birthday) are held here. From the Qianlong Dynasty, every year the Qing emperor set up "three banquets of Shangyuan" in Yuanmingyuan, that is, the clan banquet on the 14th of the first month, the foreign vassal banquet on the 15th of the first month, and the official banquet on the 16th of the first month. Among them, the foreign vassal banquet and the official banquet were also held in the Zhengda Guangming hall. Every year, the emperor held birthday celebrations, Xinzheng quyan, qinfan, Xiaoyan Tingchen, Zhongyuan banquet, Guanqing dragon dance, dakaohanzhan, Sanguan village examination and retest.
Zhengda Guangming Hall
The Zhengda Guangming hall is located in the gate of the main palace of Yuanmingyuan. It is the first of the 40 scenic spots in Yuanmingyuan. The Zhengda Guangming scenic area includes the Zhengda Guangming hall and the gate area. It was built in 1725.
be open and aboveboard
The term "righteous and bright" comes from Zhu Xi's "the ancient sages and sages have made good faith in each other, and they have done their best to achieve the cause of being righteous and bright.". Qianlong's poems have an interpretation of "justice and brightness": to build happiness without bias, to be restrained (to be upright), to conform to the quantity of things, to use the national view to call out the light, and to show the feelings of the people.
Start to build
According to Mr. Wang rongzu's investigation of the archives of Qing Dynasty, before 1725, Yongzheng told the Ministry of officials and the Ministry of war that "I am the same in Yuanmingyuan as in the palace, and everything should be done as usual". The emperor called the place where he dealt with government affairs in Yuanmingyuan "qinzhengdian". Since 1725, his life in Yuanmingyuan was almost the same as that in the palace. One year ago, the main buildings included in the project were built for the emperor to handle government affairs, or to transfer the political power center of the Forbidden City, including Zhengda Guangming hall and Kyushu Qingyan.
rule and regulation
The main hall of Yuanmingyuan is 129 feet (39 meters) high and 63 feet (19 meters) wide, with seven columns of 2 feet 9 inches (84 cm) in diameter standing on the steps of 4 feet (1.2 meters) high. In the hall, there are couplets written by Emperor Yongzheng himself, and a plaque of "justice and brightness" written in Yongzheng's handwriting is hung on the hall. It has 7 halls, with a large platform in front, 5 in the East and 5 in the West. The stone mountain in the rear of the hall is called Shoushan mountain. The mountain is still there today, but the jade shoots are not to be seen.
Generally speaking, this area is surrounded by a large forbidden area. With the rise of the political status of the palace, the main hall also has two wings. In the east wing, the military aircraft minister deals with government affairs, and in the west wing, the Marquis's chamber.
The style of Qianlong period
Among the forty scenes of Qianlong, this is the first one he named.
In the middle of the main hall is the emperor's throne, which is made of red sandalwood. It is exquisitely made. The throne is covered with yellow embroidered Satin cover. The throne is located on the high platform with three steps below. The platform is surrounded by red lacquer wood railings and carved with roses and other flowers. There are high screens on both sides of the throne, which are decorated with blue emerald and peacock hair, and bird feathers are decorated with ruby and Jasper. The throne was covered with beautiful embroidered cushions. Above the throne is a four character plaque written by Emperor Yongzheng. The wood ceiling is carved with deep patterns, and the crystal clear carved glass lamps are suspended. The windows were pasted with white Korean paper. There is also a panoramic view of Yuanmingyuan on the west wall of Zhengda Guangming hall, which almost covers the whole wall. On the east wall, there is a copy of Qianlong's imperial book, Yushu ZhouShu Wuyi. Emperor Qianlong appreciated the pattern here and praised: "if you don't carve or paint, you will get the meaning of songxuanmao palace. At the back of the house, there are steep rocks and jagged jade shoots. The vestibule is empty and open, the trees are shady, the flowers are red and purple, and the layers are endless. " That is, "no carving, no return, satisfied with the meaning of the cottage.".
The Zhengda Guangming hall includes a series of buildings, such as the leading space. From the south, it needs to pass through the screen wall, the court room, and two palace doors to reach the main body of the former dynasty building complex - Zhengda Guangming hall. The design of Zhengda Guangming hall is elegant and dignified, with seven rooms in width and three rooms in depth. It is located on a high platform with surrounding corridors, a top of Xieshan with gray tubular tiles, a bucket arch and red water chestnut doors and windows. It was built in 1725 in the early years of Yongzheng. This scene includes the gate of the Grand Palace, the main hall of light and the East-West side hall. It is the first group of buildings after entering the garden. Zhengda Guangming hall is tall and solemn, with a four character plaque painted by Yongzheng.
Burn down
In 1793 (the 58th year of Emperor Qianlong), George Macartney (1737-1806), a British envoy, visited China. In October 1860, when the British and French allied forces ravaged the Old Summer Palace (the battle of Gengshen), the headquarters of the British and French invading forces were set up here when they looted and burned the Old Summer Palace and other western suburbs. This hall was the temporary headquarters of the leader of the invasion of China, which was then set on fire.
