Lingshi Temple
Lingshi temple is located at the foot of Lingshi mountain in Dongzhang Town, Fuqing City, Fujian Province. It is located at the foot of Furong peak, the main mountain of Lingshi mountain, which is more than 100 li long and has a great potential.

In the Tang Dynasty, at its peak, Lingshi temple had more than 2000 monks, with thousands of mu of land and thousands of mu of mountains and forests, forming a large landlord economy.
In the early years of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the palace was destroyed. At this time, Zen master Xing Lin led his disciples into the temple to manage and restore the rules of Qing Dynasty. In 1615, the temple was restored. At that time, ye Xianggao visited the temple and presented a poem "Lingshi visited my Zen master". He Qiaoyuan, Shao Sikong of Ming Dynasty, said: "the poems left by the prime minister can still be found, and the mountain monks only use them to drive the forest." In the 21st year of the Republic of China, the temple was robbed by bandits, the monks scattered and the temple was deserted. In the 30 years of the Republic of China, the nuns Xingci and Deqin of Fuzhou dizang Temple led the nuns to open up wasteland and renovate the temple. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in the 34th year of the Republic of China, Lingshi temple was still the abbot of Xingci nun.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in 1953, there were 18 nuns in Lingshi temple, with more than 40 mu of land and 2 hired workers to cultivate. In 1964, the forestry farm established in Lingshi mountain signed an agreement with Lingshi temple to protect the temple and take charge of the living and welfare of the nuns in the temple, including the care, nursing, medical expenses, burial expenses and other responsibilities of the old and weak nuns. In 1988, there were 12 monks and nuns and 15 residents in the temple.
Founded in the first year of Tang Dynasty (847). At the beginning, it was built as an nunnery by the two surnames of Lin and Zhao, and by the monk yuan Xiu who often recited the "Qi Ju Su mantra". In the fourth year of Tang Dynasty (8500), jingshe was built, which was called "CuiShiYuan". There are 36 nunneries, more than 2000 monks, and thousands of acres of land and mountains. Temples flourished in Song Dynasty and declined gradually after entering Ming Dynasty. In the 43rd year of Wanli (1615) of the Ming Dynasty, the eminent monk Xinglin raised his money, and the temple was restored, forming today's scale. At that time, ye Xianggao visited the temple and presented a poem "Lingshi visited my Zen master". Shao Sikong and he Qiaoyuan said, "the poems left by the prime minister can still be found. In 1663, the second year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty, the Taoist monk raised money to build the Tianwang hall and rebuilt the Daxiong hall, which has been preserved to this day. However, there are only six plinths left in the Tang Dynasty. In 1932, the temple was robbed by bandits, the monks were separated, and the temple was abandoned. In 1941, master Xing Ci and master Deqin led the nuns to open up wasteland and renovate the temple. After that, they became the nuns' jungle. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Lingshi temple was still the abbot of cibichuni.
In 1953, there were 18 bhiksunis in Lingshi temple, with more than 40 mu of land and two hired workers to cultivate. During the "Cultural Revolution", Buddhist statues and religious implements were destroyed. After 1979, the temple property was gradually returned. In April 1984, master Hui Miaoxian was asked to revive the Taoist temple, and the Fuqing County People's government allocated funds to renovate the main hall. All kinds of Buddha statues are donated by overseas Chinese monks, mages and believers. A new mountain gate was built in 1986. In 1987, the temple was renovated and the statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, dizang Bodhisattva, Kalan Bodhisattva and the eighteen Arhats were completed.
Architecture
The temple takes the mountain gate and Daxiong hall as the central axis, and there are spacious corridors on the left and right sides. Beside the two corridors, there are Dharma hall, bell and Drum Tower, Zen room, guest room, etc., forming a group of large-scale buildings. Among them, Daxiong hall is very spectacular. It is a civil structure building with double eaves on the top of xieshou mountain. It has three rooms 101 meters deep and three rooms 5.2 meters wide. Each room faces south by east 40 degrees, and its column base is the lotus foundation of Tang Dynasty It has a diameter of 1.08M, well basin type wooden frame beam, Caijing Caihui dragon and Phoenix, Feitian, Baogai lotus, peony and other patterns. Magnificent and beautiful. In the temple, there are carved wooden boards with panoramic pictures of bells, drums, chimes, rice washing stone tools and spirit stones made in different ages, as well as an extremely precious Ya shaped iron tree. On February 25, 1981, it was listed as the first batch of cultural relics under key protection in the county.
Lingshi temple is surrounded by mountains. According to the annals of the three mountains, Lingshi mountain is a precipitous mountain with more than one thousand feet, green forest, beautiful scenery. There are Tongling stone, Baoyu peak, Xianren rock, Xianren stele, Liuyun peak, Bixian cave, Xilong waterfall, etc. There is also the fragrant stone of "Shi Xiang starts to rub for a long time". The hand rub has fragrance, so it is named Lingshi, and the ancient temple also gets its name. Zhu Xi once wrote a seven character poem named "you Ling Shi", which expresses the elegance of Ling Shi: "a hundred foot tower and nine stacked mountains make the scenery out of the world. Pavilion potential pillow cangxia ancient, Lingshi incense stained with green moss spots. Because of the labor and enterprise's admiration, the beautiful scenery has not reached the level of fee. How to pay for the debt of poetry and books, so I spend half a day idle. 」
Abbot
The current abbot, master Zhaobin, is over sixty years old. He was born in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. He became a monk in 1981 and studied under master Ji Ping. He is also the vice president of Fuqing Buddhist Association.
