Park site selection
First, Wujiatang Wetland is rich in animals and plants. It is an important area of biodiversity along Dianchi Lake and a habitat for birds, insects and other wild animals.
Second, Wujiatang Wetland has a significant function in controlling flood and regulating water flow in Baoxiang River and Wujia river. At the same time, it plays an important role in water storage, regulation of river runoff, recharge of groundwater and maintenance of regional water balance, and can form a natural "sponge" for water storage and flood control.
Third, with the acceleration of urbanization, the economy of Liujia, Guandu town and Xiaobanqiao area is developing rapidly. The development of industry and agriculture, other human activities and natural processes such as runoff bring pesticides, industrial pollutants and toxic substances into Wujiatang Wetland through the river. The toxic substances can be degraded through the biological and chemical processes of the wetland. It can effectively reduce the pollution of the upper reaches of Baoxiang River, Wujia River and other rivers, play a role of natural barrier, and play an important role in improving the ecological environment around Dianchi Lake and maintaining the ecological balance of the lakeside.
